Here's an image depicting Daisaku, or better known as Johnny Socko, with his Giant Robo! This is based on the 90's Giant Robo anime series instead of the live action tv show of the 70's. Just really love the anime and was a big fan of the tv show when I was a kid.

The boy is probably a little older, maybe in his early teens compared to the anime or tv show.

Enjoy! Thanks for looking.

OH shit, that looks awesome. My only thing is that Robo looks a tad soft; but I guess the glare from the sun might make his edges look like that. Awesome looking stuff, hehe I remember the TV show, along with Ultraman and damn it something Magma (forgot the full title of that one)

I LOOOOOVE GIANT ROBO! Didn't even know there was a live action one too. Anyone interested in anime: go rent the tapes!!!

Very nice image! Nice perspective job too. Did you lay the whole thing out by yourself?

congrats - excellent image

Hellz Yeah!!!
GIANT ROBO KICKS MAJOR BUTT. I loved that show. BTW my best friend was the American voice of Daisaku. It's so cool to see this picture. I'm going to forward it to him, if that's cool with you?

Thanks for the commments. I think that Magma show you're thinking of is Magma Space Giants. It was a freaky show with a whole family of rocket changing people. Weird, but I liked it though!

Thanks. Yes, I drew out a few different layouts, but this worked out the best where you could see the Daisaku and Robo in his full glory.

Holy cow! You're kidding me! He did the voice? That's pretty cool. He's not a little kid is he? By all means forward it to him. I'm guessing he's a Robo fan.

Yeah, he is in his early 30's. He also was the voice of one of the guys in Bouncer and some Gundam stuff. He does a lot of other voices too. The Manga work doesn't pay all that well and he just does it because it is so fun! I told him about your picture and he is looking forward to seeing it.

Thanks for all the kind comments!

If you haven't seen the anime, definitely check it out. It's one of my favorites. The anime has a retro speed racer look to it, but is well animated. Don't let the style fool you. Giant Robo has a dark mood to it and a great story.
