I posted this in WIP when i started and got great help from the replies...thsnx steve ...and by looking at all your pictures here.
here's the link to the WIP:
[wip] post
I think it's finished now. I know i maybe should have made a "real" background...
here's the pic:
and the larger version: larger (134K)
I haven't had my wacom for long, but i'm really enjoying using it. I'm getting the hang of it I think and I really enjoy looking at all pictures here and learning from them. |

That image is quite good and if the first attempt with a wacom, even better. The thing that struck me the most with the image was that it was a little blurry. I initially had this problem and took me awhile before it finally dawned on me how to fix it (albeit simple). Use hard edge brushes and try to steer away from soft edge ones. It means that you will have to 'blend' the colours a bit more but the results are sharp, crisp images.
With the background glow, this needs to be used with care. Sometimes it can be a little overkill and detract the eye from the image. If you are going to use it, try to represent the light source a little more.
keep it up. |

It's actually not the first i did with my wacom. There's one that I did earlier, can also be found somewhere in the wip section.
About the soft brushes:
I think i'm just to much of a coward
I think i'll try using hard brushes in my next drawing.
About the bakground glow: I really didn't know what to put behind her So i just doodled a little to get some more contrast in the image. It didn't turn out the way I wanted, so i guess you're right about that.
Thanx for the comment. |
