Hi everyone...

Thought I'd join in on this awesome forum from what I've seen so far. Some incredible works of art here. Very talented artists here. I'm just starting getting into the whole digital coloring/editing of drawings with Photoshop and/or a drawing tablet. Just bought a Wacom Intuos and still playing with the basics to get used to it. Posted some urls below to a few of my drawings I scanned in couple years ago. Now I wanna learn to color them in with amazing shading, detail, and coloring such as many of the pieces I have seen around this forum. Was wondering if some of you may be able to point me in the right direction of some sites that will help me learn the basics on how to start out coloring with this tablet. I like the tutorial on this site, just thought I'd see if any of you know of some others that would be useful. Hope to post some of my finished works in this area when I start getting the hang of it. Any reply, comment, or suggestion is appreciated. Cya all around & have a good one!

Oops...forgot maybe I should give a lil background on each drawing.

1st drawing is something I did back in high school just doodling in class one day. Probably in `88 or `89

2nd drawing I drew in art class around the same time.

3rd drawing I drew for a buddy while I was in the Navy. He got it airbrushed on his leather jacket by some artist in Philadelphia. Was drawn in `91 I think. If I can find the photo of the airbrushed piece, I'll post that...it was amazing how he colored it.

4th drawing is my 2nd lifelike portrait drawing I ever did. Original photo was a magazine picture of Alicia Silverstone I wanted to see if I could draw. Drew this while I was sick, undergoing treatments in `96. Took my time on this one & still one of my favs.

5th I wanted to see how well I could do a portrait in charcoal. So I drew Brandon Lee as Eric Draven off The Crow soundtrack CD. Turned out nicely. Done this in `96 as well.

6th drawing is of Kerri Kendall from PB. I did this cause I wanted to see how well I could draw an entire figure portrait. Turned out ok I guess. Hands/feet gotta be the hardest thing to draw for me. Drew this in roughly `97

Well...there's a quick description/background of each of these older drawings I've done. I'm getting back into drawing more again now. Hopefully have something newer to post soon then.

Good stuff all round but in my opinion.....
You'd be better off drawing
on people rather than computers....
your style is sooo tattoo.....
Ever thought of doing that?

The first one looks like a
Metal-Band drawing on a canvas school binder.

but the rest are very tattoo.....word

Well, your style is interesting, it's a taste I haven't aquired yet (just some back experiences with kids in high school drawing this stuff, ever since I've turned my back on the grotesque-skulls-bleeding-through-the-teeth/drawings-from-80's-porn-magazines, heh, all you need now is a chick on a motorcycle with a gun, paint all this stuff on a big black van and you're set) yeah, I would say that traditional mediums will work better for you. Since the style I see in most of these images is that of rot, decay, glaring zombies and squishy, flesh piles, I would say that the 'randomness' of traditional mediums will be kinder to you. If you want to apply digital to your style, it will take longer to addapt, if you want to though, hey, that's cool.
You have skill, but I don't think I'll be able to comment much more on the white trash subject matter, I can only take so much at a time . Goodluck to you.

Yeah I see what your saying. That was back in high school and whatnot when I used to draw the gross, weird, warped, trash junk. More into stuff now that has detail and feeling to it. As I said, most of those are old drawings. Late 80's & 90's stuff. In the past, and time for future so to say! Thanks for the comments!
