Ok, so crappy elfwood is dead and I don't have anywhere else to post my pics and I will really like some comments. So, if nobody minds my b/w only pic, please leave some comment. Even if it is a "wow" or "it sucks" comment.
This is just a pic I did for a girl that commissioned it. Sorry, nothing digital here, just slightly edited in PS.
thanks for looking! ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Wow very very cool.
A few comments, maybe add some line variation so that the characters stand out from their surroundings. Are you going to color it?
Again awesome looking.
what happened to elfwood btw? |

Nice piece. The only thing that I have a problem with is that I didn't see the faeries/sprites below the dragon, I had to look for a second time. If you're leaving it as a b/w piece I think they need to be highlighted more, maybe using a bolder outline on them. |

Thanks guys! That's all I needed.
To some of the questions and comments:
Vgta - I don't know if I'll color it but it has passed through my mind. As for elfwood, well just go to their page, you'll see.
Gordillo - Me neither, but don't know if I'll be the one doing it.
Axl - yep, that's one of the flaws I seem to have in my work. Still, I think I have improved on it since I've been giving it lots of attention. Still, I won't go back to this drawing, it's not too important to bother with it. Thanks for the pointers.
Dryfire - hehe, thanks.
For the rest of you, Thanks much!!! ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

Thats a beautuiful drawing - line work really good - I agree with whats been said above though - there needs to be more "focus" - you know some bolder work to make the main characters (for example the dragon) stand out.
The composition is very good too, and would be enhanced with the main "flow" of the pic (the shape of the dragon) enhanced. |

as everybody else said, and since words dont cost money - the lil fairies and dwarf are almost invisible, but the job is beautiful!!
the details!! the details!! man!
if u colored it it could help notice the small but important details but still looks great.
and i really dont think thet the dragon's torso should be build like houman's torso. i mean the muscles should not be the same. i'm sure ur not going to currect that but... for future focus. look at larry elmore's work and know what i mean.
great piece. thumbs up |

Simply gorgeous. I would love to see it colored up really nicely. But then, if you don't have time/don't want to that's cool. |

I didn't know who 'gutsack' was but one look at the picture (insane, insane, insane detail!) was enough. Get a website, Hian. You deserve it and the masses need a place to drool at every once in a while until Elfwood opens.
on the picture: the scale is fantastic. Making the girl so tiny and the dragon so huge and the sweep of the dragon's body itself, exactly that way, that was a great idea for a picture. Now will you please stop drawing all the tiny tiny details as well?? Glad to see you're still alive and drawing. |

This is so AWESOME! A great peice indeed. If you don't plan on coloring it, i would love to see some of the color dudes in here have their skills tested with this here drawing.

Hey Gutsack,
Add my 'wow' to your list. Only thing that I can suggest is: take out the bird on the left hand side of the picture. I found it a distraction when I looked at your picture.

Wow, more comments! Thanks guys.
Yep, the fairies are a bit hard to see, well at least that way people will take a closer look at the pic. heh
anyway,
topeira - yep, I know what you mean. Still, I assure you that that is not the only way I draw dragons. It's just the style I chose for that pic. Funny you mention Larry Elmore coz I don't like his dragons that much. I prefer Brom's undead dragons and I like Sam Wood's dragons too. There are others but I won't list them all.
Blitz - Thanks! That means a lot.
hwei - Ah, so someone recognize my work. Cool. I am working on a web page, but I've been very lazy about it. I think I should get to it, no?
Halogenic - Thanks. Well, I don't think anyone has the time to bother with it. Let's see if I give it a shot myself.
Radiater - Your wow' is added. About the bird, well, there suppose to be lots of them there playing around, but I guess someone got lazy.
Thanks again people, you are all an inspiration. Let's see if my next post will be a colored pic. That way I'll fit in better. ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

This is so good it needs to be colored and shown everywhere! As it is I agree with everyone else. It needs more contrast. Too much detail is lost in the light pencil lines. With shading (if you wish to keep it black and white) the central figure of the Dragon would stand out more as well as the other esential characters. But Color would make it awesome! I really think you should try that. I haven't much time... but my hands are itching to color this. Although you should. But if you don't want to or need pointers on coloring. Just email me. This work is exceptional!

Wow.
mmmm....My only critique would be that it looks a little busy. If it was colored with some nice contrast to make things stand out, it would be untouthchable. |

I agree with the comments about more line variation. Also consider using more pools of shadow maybe to break up the image a little more and to focus the viewers eye on the areas of interest in the picture.
Perhaps erase a little around the guy challenging the dragon to make him stand out some more?
Other than those comments, and the fact that I'd love to see it colored, its awesome.
Really clean and stylish pencils. |

Very nice and detailed. But alot of it is lost in itself... What I mean is everysingle square inch is full to the brim... save the sky... use negative space to your advantage, don't feel the need to cover the whole paper with stuff... IMHO. |

Manomanomanoman, That is SWEET!!!! I too would love to see it colored. My only gripe is the dragon looks too human in the torso. but it is still a sweet, sweet pic. |
