tonight i have only responded to the flames and you're the only one who's flaming me. i've merely commented in the few threads where i've looked at. go figure, about 85% of them were positive comments.

get your facts straight.

Your comments on the other artists work were positive. Sure. I wasnt complaining about your positive comments. I seem to recall other incidents in the distant past were you were a huge annoyance and flamed people all the time.

Besides saying "just think about it" you havent said anything specific about my texture that was wrong.

I cant say this is terribly specific, as it looks nothing like candle wax... but it is implying that the metal doesnt look like metal.

it's implying that you should pay attention to the way the highlights would form over edges/dents/whatevershit. the bevel looks cheap. also the colors are way too strong for it to look even half assed natural/whatever, which probably wasn't your intention in the first place, that'd be outrageous to do.

learn the basics of forming english sentences, my initial post to this thread said the FUCKING BEVEL makes me want to cry.

"her..blablabla" that has what to do with you? nothing. the post wasn't directed at the artist in the first place but more like a reply to someone else in the form of a post to raise hell over at sijun, that's all.

well. the art: while it is a good tutorial and it's nice that you took the time to write it, i do agree with fgfx on the bevel part. it just doesn't seem natural. not once have i seen metal that looked like that, but maybe you wanted it fake looking. i dunno whatever, goodday.

Actually, in the tutorial I used the render lighting effects filter to create that metal, so its just supposed to be a fast as hell method that looks "ok" as opposed to a "draw everything by hand and take 2 hours" method. I realize it doesnt look photoreal, but that wasnt the intent.
Its not supposed to look patently FAKE, but it was definatly going for a non-realistic style.

FAUST: Take notes. walkincircles posted a critique in a non-dickish manner. You could learn to do the same.

but actually, they look like guard rails.. and I couldnt think of a different way of lightning them..

and scooby, know what game your enemy plays before engaging them in battle

he's not in it for a pissing contest... he's what I call a griefer. ignore them after figuring that out, and they eventually get bored and try a different approach.

nah, my nick has never been 'faust', it's always had some suffix or prefix to it and i shortened it to 'fgfx' sometime ago for practical reasons.

i've been an observer of the scene, but never taken part in any party competitions. been to assembly a few times. although alot of the people from my company have been in it for some time and i've been asked to do some stuff with them. if they ever get anything done, that is. *shrug*

but yeah, i've been asked that alot actually. Sika&Perkele credits, right?

Well, Im an ignorant American, so I dont know the scene all that well, but I've admired its works for awhile.

The groups/teams/whatever I like are
Blasphemy, Purple, hellcore omnicolour, TPOLM, amongst others.

Does everybody in Finland speak english as well as the people on this board? The only languages I speak are English, a tiny bit of rusty Japanese, and enough mexican to order at Taco Bell.

Sika & Perkele is a demothingiefuckaround who had someone called Faust in it's credits if i recall right. people usually ask if that was me.

ask from me, the whole scene's gone to hell. dunno bout other parties though but assembly went to total shit in 97 when people started going there to play Quake 1 and other network games instead of going there to do the thing it's supposed to be about.. *shrug* although the recent fancy-windows-and-3d-accelerator-powered stuff sometimes blows me away. most of the guys at work always gloat about the stuff 2 months after each party so i rarely miss anything. *nods*

yeah, people here know english pretty well. especially <35-45 year old people. english teaching is good in zee schools. plus there's english here everywhere, finland is called the europe's america. *shrug* i myself have learned my english from shitty american action movies and nintendo games as a fire extinquisher size kid back then though :P never really even tried to learn anything in school. in any subject. 's why i'm stuck with digital graphics now. =\
