Any of you guys dig LINUX? I just got a new box and am running RedHat6.2 and KDE. It is awesome. I guess the one reason that I like it so much is that it's NOT Windows. (There is such thing =)), and it has all kinds of programming tools. Linux rocks!

BTW, now it has full support for Wacom Intuos tablets, and Gimp feels almost better than Photoshop sometimes....

Yeah I agree! I love linux too. i'm starting to get into programming a bit more and it's fun to mess around in.

I had it for a while but it screwed up. Kept giving ECC and Parity errors when I would start X. I suppose I should try it again some time... there are new versions of X that may not have the same problem.

cough cough *choke* ok I won't say anything about the operating system, I've heard good things about linux, but gimp almost feels better than photoshop?! sigh, what a sad program, I had to use it for professional work once, because everything was on unix, and I prayed for photoshop everyday. I guess you can make it work for you, the stuff we were turning out in gimp was pretty nice, but I'd pick photoshop over it any day. wait a sec i think this post was more about os ... ;P

I tried linux about a half a year ago, but i couldnt get my video card to work properly in it (only worked in 360x340 res, which aint good heh) and my modem wouldnt work in there... getting cable soon, and probably GeForce 2, gonna give it another shot (and the wacom that i ordered 2 months ago)

and i'm sure there are many other graphic programs other than gimp
