bloody cool illustration and a fine tut! Great! I would love to see some specefic info on how you do the greyscale pencils and watercolor, but I can understand that you wanted to focus on the digital parts of the process since it was for cgchannel... Maybe a follow-up tut or something???
,boom

Thanks for the tut adigra. Pretty much stuff I know, but the pencil watercolor combo never really crossed my mind. I'll have to try that out. I went and checked out your site after I looked over the tutorial, I like your stuff a lot.
Keep up the good work.
Take it easy,

Yeah what makes it unusual is the amount of manual technique you use - I guess thats why I was curious to see how you got the textural detail working so well. Have you always worked this way or have you ever done "pure" digital?
Great tutorial - really showed how it was done! |

Hey, thank you all, I am glad you liked my little tutorial.
-Boom, I'd do a follow up you ask about only if I didn't hate scanning the drawing every hour or so. I could write one but without the visual support it wouldn't be too helpful. Maybe if I feel really motivated I'll do it one of these days.
-Zorglub, I was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia (former Yugoslavia) Where are you from?
-JerO, I shall go check out your thread after I'm done writing this.
-marky, I have never done a painting completely digital, well except for a few exercises. I have painted within my pencil outlines and done all the values digitally, but I still had that traditional drawing in the final piece. You can see some of those paintings on my site. I don't do that stuff anymore though. I like my textures. |

Hi Adi. I'm also from former Yugoslavia. I was born in Osijek but then we moved around for obvious reasons. Now I live in Toronto. I can really see the European influence in your art. Keep up the fantastic work. |

Thx Adigra. That is a very streamlined and efficient proccess you have got there. Interesting, I had never really thought of rendering pencils really well and then just multiplying over flat colours for tone. Great idea! so simple. |
