Hey people im new to this forum and to all the digital art community, im 16 and im really trying to find out how far i can stretch myself. after looking through this amazing site and all the great pictures i felt that i had to have a go myself, so i bought PSP 7 and this was my first piece of digital art. i couldnt directly draw her into the computer bacause i havent got a graphics tablet yet so i just scanned her in from my sketch book, what do you think?

I really think you need to study the anatomy of the head some more...

1) the crown of the head: the top of the head extends back alot farther than you've draw here.

2) proportion of the face: the width of the head makes the height you've drawn seem very quished. you need to elongate the head quite a bit.

3) facial structure: here's a couple tips to help out; a) the eyes are located at the vertical halfway line. b)the nose is half way between the eyes and the chin and c)the mouth 1/2 between the nose and the chin. (roughly)

4)the ears: study your own ears. notice that the highest point of conection to the head is at the same level as the eyes. the bottom of the lobe of the ear is at teh same level as the nose/nostrils.

keeping these things in mind and practicing lots should help you out alot.

Not bad for a first try. The Eyes.. are nicely done.. but i think they are a tad bit too wide apart. And the parting of the hair.. that bugs me alot.. THAT's too WIDE.. hehe.. seems like someone mowed a trail right up the center.. mm I think the nose is abit too small.. and Awetopsy's Tips are great.. keep going at it.. Good luck.
