Happy! Sijun's come back!
While Sijun's sleeping.. I've finished some pics like these.
1. "Who can grab the clouds.."
Before this, for "foggy castle", Sijun people gave me advices about the contrast ( thank you ). So I tried to study about it.
2. "The sea cave"
The sea is so mysterious.. when I dived in the sea, this image came into my mind.. |

Both of these pictures are wonderfull, but there are a few things I'd like to crit, if you don't mind.
First Pic:
The arm just seems a little to thick for the body (or maybe the body is too thin for the arm...). i think that it would look better if maybe you gave the body more definition or something, and made it a little thicker.
Also, the way he is holding the clouds looks like sort of an after-thought. Maybe if you made the clouds bigger, or more prominent it might look better.
Second Pic:
This is a very beautiful picture, but I still think you have some issues to look at. First, I think the fish needs to pop out a lot more, because when I first looked at the picture, I didn't even see the fish (i thought it was part of the mermaid). Secondly, the background seems a little busy, and it drowns out the main mermaid. Maybe if you fade the backround out, or desaturate it a little, it will look better.
these are both excellent painting, and dont' take my critiques as insults. remember, these are just suggestions, and i'm only trying to help ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Wow, both of those are very nicely done.
I have to agree with geo on the first one about the arm - it does seem a bit awkward. It is nevertheless beautiful.
I have to disagree with him on the mermaid...If you brought out the mermaid from the sea, it would lose the mysterious feel and beauty that you tried to explain under the pic. Just my opinion
Great stuff however, keep them coming. |

I really adore the underwater pic--I've been watching you work on it on your site, and the way you've done the light coming down through the water is positively stunning. |

Thanks for commenting! Sorry, my response was late..
Also thanks for nice advice, I did re-paint (partly) on the second pic.
If you have windows PC, you can see my painting way of these pics.

Wow thank you, crits welcome! Glad for your advice..
First Pic:
I've wanted to express that guy's power with his arm's thickness and the body's angle.., then.. Oops, I did too thick! Thank you for the advice!
The clouds. Yeah, that's an after-thought(you noticed? surprising eyes!).
hum.. making the clouds more prominent is nice idea, but I wish that..
In this pic, I tried to suggest the pic's outside's existence.
That guy is seeking things at outside(maybe far from here), looking, and feeling that existence..
Anyone can't see it, but people might imagine it as many kinds of things...
Expressing that situation, I used two key. The first key is this guy's face & body's angle.
The second key is the things that continuing to the pic's outside.. and I hesitated which things to choose. You know, finally I chosen the clouds. So, now, the cloud's role is a guidepost that leads our eyes to the outside.. As this role, I set the clouds not so prominent.
But this theme is not succeeding in this pic, I feel. I need more study!
(Oh, excuse me, I told too much longer.., I'll be simple from now.)
Second Pic:
I agree that both of the main mermaid and the fish are inconspicuous, but they are in the bottom-side of this cave. At the bottom-side, the sunlight might be weak...
Now I decided to put to them lights, partly. I wish the lights work better.. Ok now?

I agree on the first one about the arm, I'll study the fit size..
On the mermaid, thank you for noticing my thought under the pic.
But now, I did putting partly light on him.. that does not lose the mysterious feel, I think.

Oh, you saw my way of painting on my site? Expressing the light&shadow is one of my favorite things over the painting-works...
Glad you like it. Thank you!
