Please..This sounds like a really bad excuse, but really, my scanner is really bad.
A lot of the information in the picture is gone. The white spot in the right corner is not suppose to be that bright and the picture is not suppose to be blurred like it is in some areas. Time to get a new scanner:/
I did this yeasterday. Actually my first day off(even though i hve my vacation right now.)
I've been working on a lot of different things, but too little on my own things and what i wan't to do. A month ago i tried to paint my girlfriend with oils, but it turned out totally shit because the photo was so bad(even though i liked it). You could'nt see what was going on at all, shadows too undefined and subtle. I managed to ruin my brushes cause i did'nt wash them. That's why i tried watercolours instead. It takes alot to ruin the brushes and i feel more comfortable with it. I will however do another try to paint with oils. Just need to prepare myself more for it i guess.

Well, crits for this pic is very welcome as usual.

Thanks!

The watercolor technique is awesome. The only thing wrong is that the head is about 10% too big. Unless your head really looks like that.

The technique here is great, and I agree with the head comment. I'm wondering how it really looks like, because the bottom part of the image looks really blurred. Not my favourite from you, but nice as usual .

(hmmm, i'm repeating things... i'm getting old...)

Dude, it's rude to steal someone's thread by putting your own artwork smack, dab, in the middle of it. People will view this thread because micke started it, and he is very respected here. It is simply not cool to ride on his fame.

Thanks people!
ScoobyDoo: Yes, i see your point..Maybe i could "cheat" and fix it quickly in PS.
Thanks.
Grendel Khan: Maybe i should scan it again on a different scanner, cause there is actually quite a big difference. The scan i way too blurred in some areas. My scanner works randomly. I had to scan the picture about 5 times before getting a result that was pretty ok.
sz.j. menyhei: Now that got me curious.. What kind of picture did you post?
I don't really mind as long as it is relevant in some way.
andskj: Takk Det er ganske dyrt, men de holder ganske lenge. Har hatt samme sett i ca.3 r.
Frosted Flame: Same as i said to sz.jmenyhei. I don't mind as long as it is relevant in some way.

No more feedback? Come on i need some help here.

nice job...looks like perhaps a hard surface or plate finish paper? I find the irregularity of the wash around your head a bit intrusive...looks a bit over worked perhaps? Colors are a bit unmodulated (is that a word)...kind of monochrome patches rather than warm and cool mixes...but take those as constructive comments, because it's a very good painting.

micke: Possibly the first non-digital piece that I've seen from you micke. Very nice technique. Scanners tend to be evil when you want to scan stuff like this, the paper is often the culprit.

Can't really offer any valuable crits that havent been said already. Nice work.
