Wow, very cool!
I love the texture, colors and his pose.
Where he lives..? I like this background's expression too.
I'm interested in his story... |

I have to say that you are one of my favorite artists on this board. The pic is just excellent. I also have to say that I really don't see the Travis Charest influence thing some here are saying. I really don't like his style but I do like yours so there most be a big difference.
Btw, I saw you tutorial and I was surprised that your method of coloring is so similar from what I was recently experimenting myself. I was also surprised of the why' you chose to color that way (as you stated on the conceptual design forum) coz I had similar thoughts. Anyway, thanks for letting me know that it is possible and I wasn't wasting my time experimenting. Still, I do have a different approach in adding highlights and such.
Keep it up man, coz you rock. |

Wow gutsack (interesting name??) thank you very much on the kind words. Everyone else as well, you people are great and make me feel good about what I do and push me to do more.
The elusive tutorial. Since there seems to be a confusion about it I will explain. It is soon to be up on www.cgchannel.com however the people who have seen it found it through the concept forum because I had a rough version of it for my impatient friends over there. As soon as I find out that it's up on cgchannel I will post a link for all interested to check out.
I didn't expect such an interest in that tutorial and I must say I am very happy about it.
Oh by the way there is a very nice tutorial by our own Mikael Noguchi on the same site about the process he used to paint a SW illustration. Great stuff (plus pics of his cute ex ) He and I worked on some similar stuff in the past.
