I'm working on a Children's book, and i decided to do it in 3D. This has been a challenging and wonderful experience.
I can't show any final pictures yet, But here are some tests that I did...
I hope you like 'em!

WOW! The hair on that kid and the grass in the second one look amazing. Very realistic and cartoony at the same time. I'm 19 but I'd buy any book with graphics like that

Hey thanks for the nice comments.
I use LW and then do color corrections and effects in Photoshop and After Effects. I like using AFX because I can blow through changes faster than in Photoshop

Yeah I'm the only one working on this and let me tell you it's all about the reusable assets and careful planning. some of the scenes are quite complicated, eg. a park full of trees and a big fountian in the center and a quaint little Main St. USA. I'm learning alot and refining the process constantly. Man, That park scene has been a beast, but should look pretty cool when I am done. This has certianly been the most fun I have ever had working on a book, also it is the first one based on my own characters, so that is it's own reward as well. I'm glad people are responding so well. I hope I can get the illustrative quality that I am going for in the final pictures. Thanks again for the nice comments and I will certianly post some more pictures in a few weeks.

Great work Kory. You using Sasquatch? Cause if you're not, you could save a lot of memory using it for the grass. I had an old scene with over 3 million blades of grass-I didn't even dare animating it. I went back with Sas and it worked wonderfully. I still have geometric grass close up, and it turned to Sasquatch as it went into the distance, blending. Saved about 2.8 million blades of grass!
