I know theres an aweful lot of "post all your <random object>s here" threads, but I havnet seen one for animals, and I just recently scanned some of my old animal drawings. I'd love to see what kinda animals you all have created.

These first two I did about the begining of 7th grade (I think I was 12?), and I cant say I'm especially proud of them. Photo reference for the first, painting reference for the second (painting from paintings isnt something I do anymore).

Now this one was done in 8th grade, and is my personal favorite of these. Sorry about the crappy scan and poor cropping.

Made entirely of dots!

I'd love to see some more animals; real or made-up .

I did this recently using Painter 6. It was my first use of Painter 6 since I junked earlier versions as too awkward to use. But Painter 6 is GREAT!!!!

Cicinimo: I used an ink called "India Ink".

Here is an image of a lizard that I recently created, its a combination of waterclour and digital art.

Well, since I started the thread, I suppose I should take the honor of commenting on everyones art .

Cicinimo: (yes,I'm criting myself ) The wolf is cockeyed, and looks odd. The fur needs some refining, and the background lines detract from the quality of the image. The eagle needs more attention to detail, and the background is also distracting. The rhino needs more depth and dpi variety. It would be a far more successful stippling with more of said variety.

Since I'm hardly qualified to critique these others, I'll just tell you what I like and dislike about them .

Gecko: Hah, thats a creative critter there. The anatomy is brilliantly original, and it would be amazing to see that thing move. I like the color choice, and theres definately something to be said for your use of lines on the 'bird'.

Fleabrian: I love that lioness; perhapse my favorite of the animals. It was a daring move to put yellow on your lion as you did, but the results are fantastic. The feeling of bright sunlight and a warm day is perfectly conveyed. That second one there is, well, different. I like it! I'd love to see a larger version, but that firebreathing ape octopus is hilarious (and well drawn) The zebras are great in their simplicity. I wouldnt mind them on a tee-shirt .

Socar: As always, your rats are (strangely) beautiful. the on the left is my personal favorite; the other seems to have a strange position. Still, both of them are cool. I just wont tell you what my ball python eats .

Matt: Nice colors. The position of the lion and layout of the overall pic are also fabulous. My only little complaint would be the trees in the background, which I think could take a little more attention.

fleabrain: You strike again! And with my favorite of them all! the color variety really works here. I adore the snake and the lilly pads, superb. The fish in the front seem a tad flat, however.

Davi: More fish . nice colored pencil work (it IS colored pencil, isnt it) and clean design. What was this picture for originally? I find it very interesting.

ZiiGenek: Oh wow, thats stunning detail! What kind of ink pens are you using for those first ones? Very appealing, and very realistic. Wouldnt mind any of those on my wall. That last one is equally amazing. I ph33r those skillz .

Any more wildlife pics?

I thought these would be fun to post too, I've always had a soft spot for animals.

I did all these when I was in 8th grade or so, that's why they are so goofy:
