Id say its looking cool so far. The only cruit I would have is that the big swirl looks very Photoshop-esque. All the designs are cool enough in themselves but I think that the swirl could probably be changed so that it doesnt resemble a photoshop plugin.
I do think it looks cool so far tho.. good work. |

thanks awetopsy.... i appreciate the input. For clarifications sake, this image was created using bryce4.0 I used photoshop5.5 to save the file as a tiff so i could cmyk it for press. I can see how it looks like the photoshop twirl effect, but only to a designer i would think. The general public would not know that. If other comments make issue of it I will have to rethink the design and start from scratch. Bryce has no "layers".... that would be a neat plug-in though....multi level 3d rendering, i can see my box smokin' now lol ; )

I like it. I don't like it.
Sure it looks kinda cool, and interesting. BUT... you won't gain any respect from me at least, because I think filters are too calculted and instant. There is no human element to them. Nothing accidental about them, nothing 'hand made'.
Sure I use filters, and I suggest people should sometimes, but when a design relies so heavily on a filter effect. Well I can't help thinking that even a baby could do it.
I'm sure you could do something that is more of a reflection of your talent. Than a reflection of your computers talent?
Sorry to have a dig. You wanted opinions.
You do have a good point though. It's for the public, so they wont have the same opinions as an artist. |

Collosimo, that would be true if I used only filters. I used two, one swirl, and one to make the original sphereoid. The rest is created by hand, using booleans to create reflective surfaces that were placed for optimal gain. There was a lot of work put into making the items, setting their colour values, suface maps I had to create to lay over the booleans, textures that needed to be created on floating sufaces.... a GIANT pain in the arse.... I will never use bryce again to gain this type of effect. The cover too about 50 hours of work. 30 seconds of filter useage and I get roasted... lol -designers.
ps, "babys" would not have the required motor skills to design. : P |
