I have been admiring alot the amazing artwork that has been posted on this forum.
It took me about a week to complete this... Critique and comments welcome. I am not sure if I actually like the way this came out or not. However, I can handle and would appreciate any constructive critism....

hey hey...looks good
pero...(but) the anatomy is off.. both of the face and where your shoulder is.. colors are good.. look at some books or just (if you have a meeting or go to church) sit in that meeting and draw faces or something... cause then you will get better at the anatomy of the face.. hmmm...
again.. looks good.. good job

...oh and the arm, the more I look at it, the more I see that it looks a little awkward. |

Ok you should be able to tell what Ive done by this.
first: the eyes need to be spaced apart alot more. take the width of one eye and put that amount of space between the two eyes (at least, should be 1 and 1/2 but becausre this picture is a 3/4 angle its 1 should be fine)
second: break down the basic structure of the chest. Im assuming this is a self portrait since the filename was 'self.jpg'.
look at yourself in your mirror and try to imagine your chest as a box or a wide cylinder with two teardrop shapes about 2/3 - 1/2 of the way up in front.
third: the shoulders are way lower. In this pic you've almost got the hunchback of notredame thing going on here. lower the shoulder considerably.
fourth: the highest point of the ear where it attaches to the head is level with the eyes.
Im assuming this is from a portrait photo of yourself. We might be able to help you more if we were able to see the reference photo.
anyways hope all this helps. |
