Well. Long time no post. Thanks to fgfx for the idea ..

It's the midsummer fest here - I sort of rushed this thing because I knew there'd be some heavy drinking once i'd be finished -- cheers .

i do agree with the smoke comment though. Maybe some hard edges in the smoke would fix that though.

sweet stuff man, I love it. One a side note though: I thought mortars were those things that were shot out of a hollow tube? Y'know, those htings that a soldier would strike the ammo at the tip, then drop it in the tube. Maybe I'm just confused

Brilliant! Love it.
One thing though that is taking away a bit of atmosphere are the mountains on the left.
They scream photoshop brush all over the image. If they had been more in contrast to the sky you would get a better enviroment.

Although i think a literal owl mortar would be more hilarious .. a guy i know from the countryside once taped magnesium on a hamster and threw it in a small pipe pointed upwards and with water in the bottom - magnesium reacts with water - and so the poor thing flew out with a *boom*Sqweeeee*plop*

AHAHAHA, that's so damn cool

I think the smoke/explosion could be better. but it's a great concept pulled of with flair.

I love the guy at the bottom clutching his helmet. hehe the character is great.
