i know - the proporsions are a little off... ok, a lot off, but i needed to smile and occasionally i forgot to do so and it affected the expression. hope the colored are better than my last post.

plz comment on what u find suitable even if it looks inappropriate like what was said in the last thread in

hey,

a. The skin is much better colored than the previous autoportaits. I would add more texture and details to it (maybe add more blues), so it would reach the level of the eyes.
b.Add variations of value to the hair, to make it more natural looking and more randomly growing.
c.accent the edges of the nose, to make it less flat, and by that define more the structure of the face.
d. the use of reds is really good.
e.what the heck happens with the neck?
f. you should do something with the chin. I don't know what - maybe add blue to it, maybe add more contrast, dunno.

Not bad, but the neck certainly needs some work. Looks just like a cylinder on which your head is stuck to.

Floating head, scarey.

Hey, topeira... if you don't mind, I'll come back later today, and do a visual modification to this one. There are some things I'd like to comment on, but would be better, if I simply showed you by example. In Utah/USA, it's about 1pm now. I'll be back around 8 or 9pm for the visual fix-up. This is a very solid portrait. Great job!

I'm too busy now. I'll comment later. By no means a perfect example, at least you can get a better idea of cools to warms, among other things.

Hope it helps. Let me know.

I'm posting here, to bump it back up. I never did get a response, and I feel a bit neglected. Make me happy, by saying something... anything from anyone.

I'd most like to hear from topeira, but I don't think he's about. Anyone? Anyone?

Mike - your repaint is definately an improvement on the original, to say the least You nailed the skin tones, something that I simply can not do. Only a couple things that jump out at me.
-His left eye (our right) has lots of red tones on it, it looks good, but the absence of these tones on the other eye kind of makes it appear that he was punched in the left eye and not in the right
-The next seems a bit skinny, on our right side of the next, I think it needs to be extended further to the right, to make it line up more with the base of the ear.

Yeah, I'm not too happy with those tones either, but I didn't take much time to correct that, since this isn't my baby. I just wanted to point some things out to topeira... I think the redness on his eye is over-saturated... I'm just too lazy to do anything about it, but topeira may learn from what is there, and what we're saying on the 'fix.'

You still alive, topeira??

good start topeira.

OMG ---> I just accidentally found out some crazy trick for windows. If you scroll to one of the pictures and then click and scroll to another one and then move the mouse about an inch from the scroll bar still holding down the button it will flip between your current position and the last place you were at before you clicked and scrolled, crazy...it allowed me to effortlessly flip between the two pics with ease seeing the comparisons.

Mike! Nice touchups! really brings out the skin tones, and surface forms, haven't talked to ya for a while I need a password for that paintchat I think :-) I saw your other works floating around here to, simply breathtaking, and good start on you 3d conversion, looks good, well talk to ya later.

i'm very impressed with those moderations. they are so great i wonder how did u make those, mike. the tones on my portrait was because of the lightning - the yellowish hue was cuz of the yellow light i had next to me and the lack of red tones on my right eye was cuz it was hidden from the light butlit from the TV on my left. thuse the purple parts that didn't come out well at all. u missed that in your fix up but the improvement is terrific.
now seriously - how did u make those changes?
i can see u also worked on the hair on my head and beard.
most of the point are more clear to me although some of the things that looked like a mistake were on purpose.
thanks for doing that touch-up. it will take me time to try and really get that right
