Well here it is. I finally colored it. I am gonna be changing some things...slight things, and I know what you all will probably say, but let me know what you think, okay sijun'ers??? Any comments are welcome. I might try coloring it in the puter too, later, if I get the balls.
Oh yeah, HEY MIke!!!! did I win...I officially finished at 11.35 on Thursday night...damn it's thursday...anyway, can I get a prize?? come on!!! How about one of your pretty drawings hehe, next time we'll actually have a starting signal, so i dont jump the gun...but hey you snooze you lose.haha. Hope yours are coming along well Mike, I realllllly wanna see more, the last one was awesome...the person with the whip...damn, it rocks my nads.

So here is the story behind the image.. Fred went into the pub.. as seen in the image behind Fred, he gets drunk and starts hitting on some chick.. then gets his ass whooped, sits down feeling all depressed and decides to slowly slice his left leg off with his sword.. or maybe he got hungry and mistook his leg for a slab of salami.
All in all its an excellent image and I'm glad you colored it because it looks sweet now.

Bah. Ok, you win. Hell, I haven't been able to touch mine, since the deadline I got at work. I should have had mine done, but priorities are priorities... and my full-time job comes first. Dragon's paying me dick for what I'm givin' them, so they can wait a couple weeks for the remaining pieces. (that better not get back to them)

Now lemme just say this... once again, I am appalled at how wonderfully you color. Another sweet balance of cools and warms. You captured the mood in color... or should I say, you did not ruin the mood the linework revealed by the colors... the colors took it beyond the next step. ...how's that?

I'm all honored and stuff by you giving me compliments on your post. It's like giving me a gift on your birthday... you're doing it wrong... but hell, I don't mind!

Ok... let's make a pact for the next piece... the loser ships off a piece of his art... whatever he wants to send. Hell.. I'll send you something of mine, if you like. I'd love it if I got something of yours. You on? Sounds like a great tool for getting shit done. I'm all for it!

hey u2art, I like it. quite a bit, I like the round style. really full. Good work. What I was thinking stemmed from farwalker. The contrast is good, but I think that if you used a much cooler color for the highlights on the guy, then it'd make it more extreme, like he's being lit from the moon. it'd put all the warmth in the bg, in the place. and I think it'd accentuate the isolated, sad feel of the guy. just a thought, but I think it's beautiful.
oh, mabey fade the warm color off a bit, so it doesn't show up behind the right side so much, just so it's not so prevelent, and such. ?? what do i know!

Hey yall, I did a little bit of changing...toned down lights and blued more stuff...made the barrel rings more like surroundings...brown rusty- nasty orange color...hahah, anyway it made it look less like annoying chrome....whatdya think?? I am stopping now...got to sometime...I almost F'ed it up a couple times. Hope ya likes




Smothered- Good points, Thank you. I wanted to get warmth in the guy...cause I am akin to monochromatic...and have been trying to try different stuff. I originally was going to have him monochromatic blue...with the orange BG...but i pushed myself outta comfort zone....damn me. Thanks for the comments, they are well takin...look at the update...I tried to get the jpg like the original..nearly impossible...but you can get the jist.

davi- I just updated the photo a couple times...Photoshop saves out my jpg's wierd...I had to adjust some levels....and now it look slike the original....Hit refresh..THEN tell me if you like it or not...I want to know...Thanks

It's true about people picking the original... it's a psychology thing, too... although it can also be sheer preference.

When taste tests are given by, say, coke/pepsi/bread companies/ etc... they always have the consumer try their brand first.... the first one is always a breath of fresh air... lots of flavor when one is thirsty, or hungry... and it's the same for art... once you've had one, the second just can't be so remarkably surprising. How are you going to be refreshed a second time from a drink?

That having been said, I still choose coke over pepsi... or - I like your most recent version best.. it's looking great! I admit I like the crispness the first one has, without, say, the rust on the barrel, but I think it's an important addition to the feel of the rest of the piece. It feels 'grittier,' now, whereas the first one was more disney. Now it's not Disney, it's more Heavy Metal. I hope that's not a bad thing... I sure as hell don't think so.
