I worked in QA, and found out that 80% of our department was laid off today(all the temps)
Theres a very very good chance I'll get my notice tomorrow. Previous months before us, the finance, creative services, and web development divisions were all terminated. My company has strictly become a development house. Is it just our company, or does the industry just suck ASS right now? |

i think its just sucks ass right now. seems like a fair number of companies have laid off people or just gone out of business. leaving a lot of people out there looking for jobs... man did i pick the wrong time to try to get into this industry hehe

| I lost my job little over a month ago. Wasn't a game company, but it was a web/multimedia house. |

Hey Meaty, thanks for the info,man. I don't plan on ever doing Qa again(unless I get desperate) Next time I work in games, it will involve doing art.

Industry sucks ass BIG TIME. I lost my job 3 months ago and I still haven't found anything.
Word of advice and this is something I learned from a career director. Expect to spend one month for every 10k you want to earn. This is ussually a pretty good rule of thumb. Unless you are incredibly lucky and live somewhere that has a lot of different places to go to. Here in Texas sucks big time. |

| If you guys are making a living out of this, what do u do when you looses job like this? I'm confused because you guys are so damn talented and still struggling with finding jobs. |
