This piece is inspired by Metal Gear solid. It was a personal project and a study of photoshop painting techniques. |

Very nice, I like the anticipation presented in the pic. His hand sliding the grenade into the launcher is sweet. |

Welcome to the forums, littlepoop77, you're gonna fit in great.
Like the others, you've done a fine enough job, to get no critique from me... Great balance of warm and cool, lots of blues, but not too saturated... the style is both fun and intricate. Hopefully this is a piece you are very proud of. I'd love to see what other works you've done/will do... along with your sketches. It's always fun to see how a fella draws, as opposed to his paints. You're apparently very solid at both.
Again: welcome! |

Holy shit.
Like Mike mentioned, you did an incredible job balancing sophistication and fun in this image. It's really refreshing to see something like this.. you're incredibly talented! |

Thats awesome. The style, a combination of cartoony type shapes with realistic lighting and somewhat realistic concepts is fabulous. I cant wait to see more of your work. Your website isnt working for me. Another artist for me to look up too . |

I like this pic very much. Welcome to the forum.
I have one crit though: the white lights on the guys' armors and guns don't look very convincing. |

this is a very nice piece. nicely rendered! one small crit: at the risk of being picky, but the neon lights in the hallway don't seem to cast any light on that one guy in the middle... or maybe it's just me... nice pic though |

That is very cool. The rusted metal texture on the walls is great. I also like the lighting from those gun-mounted flashlights.
{Edit} Oh yeah, one question. Is he really going to fire a grenade at targets that are in such close proximity? {Edit}

you all have valid points...
Esplain how I could make the lights more convincing. Should I add a lenz flare?
Yes. The neon light should cast light on the middle dudes gun but I didn't want his gun to stand out too much. Or I'm just too lazy.
The main dude has a 6 barel shell he's trying to insert into the gun. I didn't intend it to be a grenade. But even if it were a grenade, the guy might have a plan...I don't know..I'm not him I just happened to capture him at that moment. Hmmm. Maybe he made a mistake and will bring out different ammo after...or maybe its a scifi version of paint ball ...ok I'll stop. You're right though, it does look confusing.
As for the resolution, is there a place at sijun where I could post a higher res versions. This pic here is from epilogue.net and is quite small. Please let me know if there is a place to put files. |

I think it's really good.. no crits..
Don't add any lensflare, it looks good the way it is!
I love the coloring and the lights!
And about that bullet thingie he is holding.. I was thinking: futuristic ammo clip when i saw it... |

The purpose of this piece was to figure out my prefrences in painting in photoshop... The main dude in the foreground was done first. As you can see, its really tight and stiff...I had trouble with it because I was trying to follow a pretty tight drawing I did. I wasn't really painting but selecting and masking areas....
As I moved to the other characters I tried a more painterly approach.
THere are a few things I don't like about this piece...1st, the edges are too soft. I did the mistake of using the airbrush. 2nd, I really don't like the main dude's hand guard. The design looks so outta place....and 3rd. I hate the design of the goggles...didn't pt too much thought on it.
Although I am happy I'm done with this piece and can move on to the next. I'm not gona bother changing anything cuz I'm too lazy.
Oh, my next piece will be done with the painbrush instead. |

very nice! suggestion: the wall textures in the forground (like the gray around the door) I think should be sharper/more detailed. They look kinda smudged... |
