Beautiful! Very emotional, poetic in a quiet way. But I think those necktendons should meet a bit more in front. Maybe also nostrils less visible..? |

i think the hair to face connection and the shirt to skin connection are not done well enough so it looks like they are done in different layers and dont blend that well, but the face are great. more contrast could add more to it. darker shadows i mean. the red on her cheeks look a lil artificial. not natural... i cant explain. so there |

Shes very beautiful. Well done Dr.!
critique:
Same points as the others mentioned, change the nostrils and nose tip a bit, and improve the hair-skin connections, also smooth the eyebrow a little. |

dr.bang, I like what you've done she looks solemn and contemplative.
I think there are a few things that would make this image look even better.
Firstly, the outlines of her shoulders, neck and chin aren't very even. Evening these out and adding some definition will look better.
Secondly, her hair looks blurry in comparison to the sharper lines of her face.
I think her eyes may look better if they had eyelashes also and her lips might need a little more depth added to them. |

WOA, thanks for the replies.
Mr.Steven: Woa, its the 3d lengend! About the necktendons, i've never had much pratice on them, I mostly spend all the time making faces. This time i tried to learn them though. Before this, the nostrils was really big, i made it smaller but i guess its still big, you are right, now i see it I'm really glad know that you think she's beautiful! Wohoo!
p.s: did those brushes i sent helped you alot?
meat_sack: Hmm..you seem familiar, anyway, i did and did not use any reference pic. The girl i draw is completely from my head but i've look at alot of refences pic for the part of the face where i'm not sure about, just to help me learn. Think I will absolutely draw some referenced pic in this summer.
Btw, here are most of the reference pic i used
topeira: You're right, the clothes she wore are done in a different layer, except the hair are in the same layer. Regarding to contrast, i tried to apply them into this picture but it just turn out to be not so. Isn't the shadow dark enough regarding the reflection of the surroundin? The red on her cheek are artificial, its her makeup just like the the real world I guess i should spend more time on it. Thanks so much though
Glitterbug: Wohoo, another count, i'm glad that you find her beautiful, I guess my imagination of woman is not bad at all eh
Yes, the hair skin connections are too close, it should look seperated. Smoothing the eyebrows is something definitely important that i dont know until now. Thanks !
Axl: Woa, thank you axl! I realized that the shoulder look bad utnil you told me. My wacom tend to be jiggly when i draw something slowly. I'll zoom in more and do it more careful next time. Her hair is blury because i'm not that good at drawing hair and because of my fear that it would ruin her face since its on the same layer. Yes, the eye lashes, i tired but then later i got rid of them.
Overall, i had a rough time with the eye lashes, i tried them a couple of times but they turned out tobe very messy, i guess i have to work at higher-rez because this is its original rez. And another of the problem i had is the skin tone! God, they are hard. I tried to learn them from different artist but they all look different, but they're still look better than mine though.

There are some elements to this simple portrait that are so poignant, yet I can't put my finger on it. What a mood you've created!
I want to go in and draw eyelashes on her, but I fear that would kill the mood of the thing. *shrug* Hell, I don't know...
...leave it alone?
Actually (and I haven't read the other comments, so this may be a repeat), see that soft line of her chin... how it blends with her neck? Do that on the rest of the outline of the face... you know.. give it a soft edge where the hair is.
Also, her neck and shoulders bother me a bit. Where the muscles of the neck tie into the collar bone, they're too prominent, and too far apart... and quite large. Her collar bone should extend out to the top of her shoulders... her shoulders drop off too steeply.
That's a lot of nit-picking up there ^ but the piece is definitely a solid one, as a whole. If you'd like for me to make an example of what I'm trying to say, just say the word.
Again... I LOVE the mood of this piece! |
