this is neat cuz of all the color and detail, but the characters are a little lacking. the way the lighter parts of the monster are practically white and the darkest darks are totally black serves as too strong a contrast, i think. it's an interesting picture, no less.

Nice gradiations. Those details would all work nice by themselves. But the picture as a whole appear a bit flat to me. Remember that stones have more colors than just grey, and grass isn't always green. It all depends on ambient lightning, radiosity and such things.
