[This post does not contain original finished art work but it does directly concern the Gallery / Finished Works forum. MODS: If I am in error, let me apologize before hand and please move this post to random musings.]
I would just like a moment to bring to your attention a list of names. These are all posts from the last 13 days, since the begining of June that have been given 0 or 1 replies. I invite you all to take a moment and see the work that has fallen beneath our notice recently and perhaps give some time to some of our newest members.

I would like to say hello to everyone listed above and ask that you stick with it and try again.
Members have been busy devoting time to various "other" activities as of late, which is fine, but a price is being paid. Btw: I am as much to blame as the next person. I am well aware of that, and so that hope this does not sound like I'm preaching. Consider it more of an F.Y.I. |

I agree. I appologize to you all aswell. I'm very very buisy with new projects so I don't have as much time to comment on all the prospective work. Like Tiger Eaten said, please stick around and maybe a brighter day will come.

Yes, any of us who are more senior types here need to make an extra effort to post on posts that have 0-2 replies. Let's do it! :] |

I apologize as well for not posting as many replies as possible. Being a Creative Director, Project Manager, Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer for 2 companies has left me with little time lately! I would love to post to all and I'm sure many will agree, but we try to at least leave a comment or two when we can to at least boost artists morale and confidence. As well, I'm working on some more artwork myself. It's also important to note that even though you may not get any replies, doesn't mean we aren't looking. I'll try and make a more concious effort to help others out at the very least. Cheers!

I think someone, let's keep his name secret..
STNEIL777!!!!!!
Have been sucking up to much attention lately..
Sorry, Im so sick'n tired of all flameing thats been going on these days. And i absolutley agree with you Tiger eaten.
It feels almost like this board is over crowded. Theres like 30 new threads every day. Not that it's anything bad about that, but It's to easy to be "bumped" aside without one single reply.. witch is quite sad..

I agree with this. I already try to devote as much time to helping others rather than getting into flame wars.
I think alot of the older forum members should take more time to get to know the non-obnoxious, younger crowd.
Im up for it. |

I agree Tiger..
Perhaps some of you guys who only ever get a few posts have noticed my name in your few replies thread.. I like to try and get to as many of those as possible, and I hope I have helped people in the past.
I'm already, and have been making a conscious effort to help these ppl.
I think that if we set a minimum, lets say 3 replies per thread.. and if you see a thread with less than three replies, then you go there and make an effort to help them.
If everyone did that then there wouldn't be a problem.
I am also guilty of ignoring some threads, partly due to time, and the phenomenal turnover, but I have redeemed myself more than some others.
Hey, in the time I wrote this, I could have hepled *doh*.. unfortunately I have to go eat dinner now.. so cya tommorow. |

Many images I see here I really don't know how to critique. If people who desire help could be more specfic about what they need help with.
For example Kool has an image languishing as I type. I am not sure what Kool is after here. I could give a crit about academic ligthing and drawing but I think it is safe to say that is not what his image is about. |

Very true, 'o mysterious Mr. Meat Sack, but then again there ARE a lot slipping through the cracks that would be very easy to crit.
I think I'll go do that now. |

Well, I gave you a challenge and, like.... two people replied.
Pretty humiliating if you ask me... |

Well hm..
a thing im wondering is, what is it that people want, when they want someone to reply to their thread. I bet that atleast over 50% just wants some attention,or someone to give a ego-boost, but yeah many wants constructive critism. But at what degree? I agree with what Spoogemeister said, sometimes you really can't give any useful critic. Sometimes you can't really say anything else then "practice more" and that is just worthless. Or "hey thats cool".
Although I admit I do it, quite frequently, but I usually just do that, because the piece is lacking critique/comments, and really deserves it, so I want to bump the post up. That is also a factor, people usually reply to a piece that has been devoted alot of time. Another thing I've noticed is that praise in a post usually gives birth to more praise.
But yeah, people reply to pretty pictures mostly. Why? Because those pictures are probably quite complex, and probably has a few errors to point out. Also people want to tell them "hey you did a good job."
Seriously though, if people doesnt have anything to say about the picture, why say something just because you feel symphaty for him/her. Might sound harsh, but I dunno. I wouldn't care less, if I didnt get alot of replies, if it happens, well then I guess people didnt like the picture or was too lazy to reply. ARgh! I'm rambling, and it's late. Good night.
edit: Oh yeah another thing, "senior" members usually get abit more replies, because we "seniors" feel more comfortable with them and we know them..so its like "hey there's X, I wonder what he have made"
ok bed now..
