i've been working on charicatures for a band called "endless orchestra", they're going to be put inside the booklet of their cd.
i had never done charicatures before i started on those, that's why some of them are a bit crappy =)
here goes...
and then the orc... it was done for a friend...
and you know what? i want comments and crits! =) lots of them =) |

Which one is the orc? LOL
Just kidding! Ha!
I like these, especially your treatment of the eyes in the 4th pic.
The only one that bothers me is the third one. The eyes in that one are strange.
The ultimate test of a charicature is whether it looks like the person. I'd love to see some photos of the subjects, that way I could see if there really is a resemblance. |

hey! the first one is pretty good. but the others almost could, at a first glance, also be ineptly drawn "real" protraits if the watcher didnt know it were caricatures. i think you should go further away from their REAL look, and more into what they look like to you. incorporate your feelings about the person into the portrait. overexagerate.
[edit: i tried to do one of them as well... dunno if i got him right, but it clearly is a caricature now.]

Hey, these are pretty great. They're exaggerated, but in a unique way. Good job. |

hehe, i have no idea what whether Fallen or FFNeX is talking about =)
i have never heard those names...
and wayfinder!!! i can't see you picture... could anyone mail it to me? i'd appreciate it...
but i saw it for like 1,5 seconds on my job and well... i didn't want to make them that abstract, if i remember correctly that is.. i just wanted them to look pathetic, silly and hopefully funny =)
the people i were doing them for found them extremely funny so i'm satisfied =)
thanks alot for the crits! it's always fun to hear =)
see you =) |
