Ok I started a thread on doing gestures since I was bored at work. Then I got the idea to make a gif animation of different poses for everyone to work from. Since some of the photos are nudes, I hopped over to the discussion forum to get opinoins on nudity on the forums. Everyone kind of said the same thing it should be ok as long as you warn in the post. So I started a new thread with the warning.
(looks at all that and wonders if anyone even bothered to read it all)
Here are the gestures that I orignially did to waste some time.
And here is the gif animation which I will do some work from as well.
Hope to see some replys folks want to see how everyone else approaches a gesture drawing. I use them to loosen up and think about form instead of detail.
Have fun.

hmmmm I guess nobody is into the gesture thing.
This is my last post on this topic, unless you guys get interested that is.
Does anyone even do gestures anymore or am I antiquated?

yo,
The Drawing Board Forum has a blossoming section with lots of nice figure drawings and discussion - animators by far use gestures drawings the most every day ...

I am defintely interested in it.
I have just done two sessions of life drawing first one witha fully nude female, and second one with a fully nude male.. unfortunately.
They weren't as good looking as these ones.
That isn't the point however. I'll do this excercise then post my pics. |
