I finished painting the models I was working on for school

My camera doesn't really take good pictures, sorry about that. I studied a bunch of painting tutorials in my friends White Dwarf magazine and hot damn, dry brushing rocks!

Those are really cool! I always wanted to sculpt and action figure. Good work

Nice, very nice. I'm sure they look even better in RL. I have no skill in that sort of thing so it looks much better to me than it would to an expert. That 2nd one reminds me of Darth Vader a bit

Thanks
Yup, I'm going to do more. These two were required for my character design class, but I really enjoyed doing it. I'm not totally happy with my first one (green jacket) because his proportions are off, the one in black I like more because I used an anatomy book to get most of the muscles right. I plan on incorporating LED lights in my next model, it will probably be some kind of robot

I used to do all that games workshop stuff.. but not anymore..

I am quite good at painting models imo, and others.. I would suggest that you work on your skintones a bit.. With figurines you have to paint them for any kind of lighting situation.. that usually means painting them as if they appear in a global lighting scene, eg. a sun.

Do you have any special model painting inks for the shadows? if you do they are very useful.. you simply wash them on and they run into all the little cracks and make them dark. You then procede to do little touch ups and make sure the ink is in the places you want it.

For your first models hair you should sculpt in some hair texture if you can.. this will then allow you to paint better hair on it, and you can drybrush hair that is sculpted like that..

Drybrushing does indeed rock.

What color should I use as a wash? could I water down some paint to use as a wash?
