the image in general is really cool and I like what you have going on here. I guess my main concern would be detail. I'm looking at parts of it and wondering what is going on. If the character is sitting on a block that is in water, there is just something strange about it that doesn't quite look right but I can't put my finger on it.
I never saw the original image so I don't know what you had to play around with but the feet could use a little detail so you can make them out properly. At the moment they look a little funny as one isn't sure exactly on their orientation.
Maybe it is artistic licence but the shape of the moon being oval as opposed to spherical looks a little unusual.
Otherwise it seems pretty cool and I like the shadows and colours. |

If that is water, then there would be a reflection. I don't know how the original was either. But it looks as though the view cuts into the water. Creating the water as a flat surface might work better. |

that's awesome, Bg! very eerie. i'd say she could use a little light to define her jaw and a feet enlargement pill. |

Very cool..
Love the colours. The character, the lighting is nice. Intriguing pic.
The feet are too small. Bouncelight.. yes It is missing in some places... the jaw especially. The water idea is a bit weird and needs some more work, but how do you know what is should look like at that angle? how do we know.. thats defintely a hard one.
The ear looks a tiny bit fake, sorta stuck on but not too bad at all. I wouldn't worry about it.
Where's the right arm??
Speaking of arms the highlight that the moon casts onto her left upper arm looks yellow.. too yellow, fix that. and the yellowness of some other small areas like the right foot and a bit on the face.
I love the little jewel thingy on the nightcap, and the moon, and the transparency of the dress, the pointy nose, the hair. etc.
Great pic. Really great! |

heh I thought it had a wonderfull atmosphere about it...
you do need to do something with the water, that flat looking through it thing just dosn't work, I think it would be great if the moon and the lighting reflected in the water a bit, creating a kind of sparkling effet... a horizon of some kind would be nice in this picture |

Hey, I love that Green;] It turned out really well.
here's what he had to work with
pretty sketchy.
I really like the colours here. the subtle hue variation is working out nicely. the mouth is still a bit strange. I drew it funny to start with. but somehow it had a relaxed fell to it. the painted mouth is off a bit I feel. it has a different expression. one of those very subtle things that is hard to get right. figuring out where to break the value planes when moving from line to full painted is hard when dealing with such small details. requires a lot of guess work, especialy when the drawing is so sketchy and un-refined.
hehe anatomy problems are my fualt, a lot of it is fudged becuase it's so sketchy. hard to tell what's going on in the original^_^
Great stuff. I think you really captured the feel I was after with your colours=) I'll have to try and do somethng different when I get around to painting it=P |

Wow! Amazing work BG and Rinaldo! I really dig this. The water could use some work though. |

I ditto the guys... The coloring and lightning is great. But, it lacks perspective in how you drew the water. Here is how I would have done the background.
Have fun!

I'm really impressed. It looks great. The sketch was good to start off with, and you enhanced it with some nice greens. Great lighting too. |

I agree. The water did look better the way it was. It was in the proper perspective the way BG coloured it. You are looking up at the girl just slightly. With your overpaint Spike, we are now looking up slightly, but at the same time somehow looking down. Heh. The water is absolutely fine BG, I love it. |

I posted newer version.
Matt Elder: When I'm colouring somebody else's drawing I try to keep it similar to the original.
Seraphire: The view is through the water and that's the reason for the missing reflection.
Icannon: Thanks
S4Sb: Bouncelight added, sir!
Collosimo: I agree with most of your crits. Thanks.
sharak2k: The water cutting view was the only possible solution, because there wasn't much perspective in the original and I don't want to mess up drawing that is done by person who has skills way beyond mine.
Rinaldo: Without your crits you gave this colouring would have been much worse. Thank you!
schabe: There's nothing wrong with the moon, you are hallucinating... yeah, it's a bit oval but I kinda like it.
Waffles: Thanks.
Binke: I refined the water more.
faustgfx: Thanks =)
denizen: Yep, I should have paid more attention to the feet.
Spike.com: I'm sorry but I don't agree with you, the way you drew the water is totally incorrect. There are two different perspectives in your version.
edible snowman: If you right click the pic and choose 'preferences' you'll see that the pic has name, but for some reason it doesn't show up when you save and so it says "untitled"...
Ed Rooney: Thanks.
daz199:
NeoFun: Same here.
Frosted Flame: Thanks for lightening up things.
CapnPyro: Thanks.
yO: Fixed... hopefully
[edit] spelling..

Looks cool Bg. nice work. I like the idea of the water. I think what may make it a little more effective is to lighten it up closer to the surface layer of the water. A slight fade should give it a murky water feel and add a little depth to the picture. |

Dont know if anyone said this yet, but the colours remind me of that from the movie "City of Lost Children" (actually 'La Cit des Enfants Perdus'), hence I love it.
If any of your artsy people haven't watched it yet, you should.
Fantastic job Bg. |

The moon's light is too bright - although the moon often looks bright, it still doesn't produce all that much light. |

Cool, I love the image (both the sketch and colored version). The water-level is obviously the troublemaker here. Why don't you guys try an underwater-perspective? Or is that what Bg tried to achieve in the first place? Maybe add some fish or bubbles. Just my $0,02 ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |
