Oy! I don't post anything for months at a time, the come in with a dumptruck full. Here are a couple more watercolor experiements. The firt was just a color test, just to see if the scheme would work. The second is a scene idea I had. (those who read Hellboy will see instant visual parrallels. I've been trying out Mignola's ingeniously simple method) It was too big to scan so I had to do it in chunks (hence the wierd lines around the image)

Too cool! Though the cloud-type thingies at the bottom of the 2nd are kind of throwing me off. |

Damn Isric..nice maybe you should continue with watercolors. Amazing, Hey can i ask a personal question? Well okay. Why is it that all your characters have their right hand in that same position? =) |

Your stuff is so cool! I like the color scheme on the first one and the pose (of both the guy and the statue) on the second. Sure the guy's name is not Indy?
BTW, I saw the concept sketches you did for Shadowmarch. Like those a lot. |

"all your characters have their right hand in that same position?" hah, yeah I started to notice that too. I'll try better next time. Thanks a lot for the encouragement people, much appreciated. Agent44, you're one of my favorites here, thanks.
I don't think I'll be stoping for a while yet, so expect more. |

PERFECT ... one comment you need to leave more of the white of the paper.. also reading about degraded washes and washes and how to do them will help solve that muddy kinda look to your water colors...
Dont get me wrong they look great the way it is MAYBE that is the style wanted?? or do you want the colors to be more flowing and mixe well together withought demarkation ( sorry i cant thing of the right word for what i am trying to say nor i think think that is a word )... sorry im french heheh... |

Hey isric if you dont mind im posting my experience with water colours.. If its a bit dark i kinda lowered the contrast to much maybe soo bring you monitors contrast a bit higher.. THis image is only part of a whole painting and DOnt mind those pink things they are suppose to be florwers and they were made with acrylics ( not to happy about that part hehe )

Spiff work as usuall, Matt.
I'll return to natural media just as soon as they invent watercolor paper with an "undo" button. |

awesome stuff! i like that second one a lot. only thing that might benefit from some tweaking is the statue's hands, but overall it's just fantastic.

DUDE! Those are magnificent...
I've had some watercolor experience at school before, but somehow I've never had the patience to let it dry. So basically, I always started painting over parts that were still wet, resulting in a very ugly, smudgy drawing/painting.
Isric, any pointers for people like me? |
