Hey Everyone,
This is my first sketch with a tablet. It took me all of 5 minutes. I am aware of the anatomical problems, but I was just seeing how well I could handle that pesky little pen. I think it stinks. Comments? :/

Don't be so hard on yourself man... It's very stylized, and I like the eyes; Keep it up! |

I'm gonna get a little preachy here so stop reading now if you want but, if you don't like it and don't think it's very good then why did you post it? If you don't like to look at it then why would we want to look at it? I'm not tryig to be mean and I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but, you see what I'm saying hopefully. It's one thing to be able to acknowledge your mistakes and ask for advice so that you can get better but it's a completely different thing to just sit there and trash yourself.
BTW, I like the sketch. I'd like to see more after you get used to the pen more and spend more time on something. |

MeatyCheesyBoy, I thank you for taking a kind tone with your comments, but I don't feel they are valid.
People in general tend to be harder on themselves than others are to them. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean the entire world will dislike it as well. That would mean that every single person had the exact same likes/dislikes/opinions. No matter how much self-esteem you have, it's always nice to hear someone tell you that what you think is bad, really isn't so bad at all. Everyone desires acceptance.

I'm gonna have to agree with the Meatboy on this one, Frosted Flame. If you think your drawing has strengths, but has some weakness that you can't put your finger on, then post it. That's what we're here for: To give each other feedback on something if you're not quite sure. But if your drawing "stinks", as you inappropriately labeled it, try again. Don't post it just to tell us you did a bad drawing, we all do bad drawings and we don't need to show them all off. It's called pride. Whatever you post, be proud of it for it's strengths. By the way, it's a good sketch. I would like to see something more finished in this gallery though.

Bad sketches are almost more valulable when posting, because people can tell you how to improve, not just..
"Oh that's great"
Right that's my piece.
Good pic by the way, I tend to work a lot on the hair before I detail anything else.
If you got rid of the white, It's would be easier for you to shade and lighten areas of the face and hair with low opacity brushes. AKA working toned.
It's kind of bizzare doing it digitally, but old tricks are good tricks.
