Hey Gavin!
Very nice image you posted. I like the design too - looks very streamyliney thingie cool.
For such a bright surface, the shadows are too black. Maybe you can introduce another lightsource, to brighten things up on the shadow side overall ?
Cool though! |

nice but ligthsource is weird. That black shadow block your mechanics... but i may be wrong.

Thanks guys.
Loki- you're dead right, I know a way of changing it..
..I cant use lights to do this, the lightsource looks wierd because of two errors in the mesh (consequence of shapemerge)But I'll make it self-illuminating and do a photoshop on the shadows.

Yea..it's nice, and the shadow issue. Black shadow is not what I would use. Perhaps you can change the light angle so the shadows are not directly coming toward us, and lessen the density of shadow. You may also think about putting some raytrace on the surface the mouse is on...giving a hi-tech look. Can't believe you're using Max's Nurbs....don't you find it little cumbersome? For something like this you may want to think about Rhino/Flamingo. Edsta--web page |

Thanks, actually the surface IS raytraced, and I did NOT use nurbs, this is all surface tools. U can see the nurbs attempt- it didnt work.

-btw I actually learned rhino but couldnt get the shape using that either |
