I'm currently practicing drawing and I have drawn a Alien (not very nice though.. but remember that i'm a newbie). Here is 3 pictures of my work process:







Please give me comments and crits , and i would be really happy if someone would make me a example how you would have shaded the alien.

I think its sad no one has replied to your work. Here is what I think you should think about.

First, don't draw a profile unless absolutly needed (client or such). Instead you need something more dynamic, like a 3/4 view. Instead of doing a straight shade over the head, shade each and every scale on his head in addition to the whole head. This will create texture and improve the piece as a whole.

You started out right by scanning first, and I think the colors you are using for the skin will work. However your lines are a little thick. Tone down the line thickness.
