INCOMING!

It has been almost a year since I actually sat down and spent an evening doing this, but after all the replies from the postings last night, I went and got excited again. DISCLAIMER: The above image is NOT the image in my head and i will be tweaking it now and then to get closer, but i am not totally offed by this either... hence the posting

The camera/viewpoint is inside a smooth hollow'd-out of ice (perhaps a dead comet) poised in such a way as we're staring out an exposure into space at a trinary system inte the distance who's light brightens filaments of old almost-gone nebula. The image in my head is clearer than this one.

actually, here is the matte image i created to use as the background scenery... not bad in an of itself, if a bit simple.
