So... if you don't like my character portraits, you don't need to look =P
This one is a bit darker than my usual portraits... And I'm sorry about the time it takes to load it - damn tripod seems SO slow today (and it's the only place I can access from here).
Kind of pretty, isn't she?

Kind of? Kind of?!?
You already know my thoughts on this... I'll keep thinking them for a long long time. ![](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |

The darker type, my favourie type. This is excellent and it contains all the aspects I love.
I love the fan and the purple tones. The hair/flowers are just brillent.
God I love this picture and yes she is pretty.
Good work. |

I think this is one of the best portraits you've posted in a long time... maybe even the best. It's probably my favorite. Painted gals with smokey eye shadow just always look so cool to me. How come when I wear smokey eye shadow I look like a crack whore? It would be interesting to see her male counterpart.

Bootful! I think if you took a break from just headshots, and medium shots you could explore more options. Find new creative venues. I'll stop using big words. I'm bound to really screw one up here.
Good work! |

Nice to see some darker work from you.
Very sultry.
Small comment:
Her lips look fat to me unless her mouth is meant to be slightly open but I don't see any teeth. |

This is my favourite one yet. It's got much more impact than your usual work--not any insult intended to your usual work, of course--but this particular one has an arresting graphic quality which I really like.
A couple of minor crits: The shape of the face seems a little odd. The left cheek (HER left, not our left) seems to go down towards the chin at too sharp an angle compared to the curve of her forehead. This results in her face seeming very slightly squashed, and her chin seeming flat. Also, I think her nose is a little skewed, as well--I think we'd be able to see a little more of the left side of the nose in this position.
Don't be offended, though--I really...REALLY love this. |

Keep painting beautiful women and I'll keep staring at them affectionately.
I love your portrait work. Humans are accutely aware of minute little things about the human face. Expression and emotion can be such subtle things. And it is easy for us to identify flaws or abnormalities in the human face almost on a subconscience level (probably something developed partly due to the mate selection process, but this isn't animal behavior class so I need not go into that here). Anyway, what I'm saying is portraits are difficult to do well, imo, and you do them very well on a consistent basis. |

Yes, i like it too!! Very pretty Enayla, and I just love the way you use different colours for the skin in your portraits..
But theres something wrong with the shape of her face.. she seems to be a bit flat..
The nose and the mouth doesn't fit with the angle of the eyes.. hmm.. sorry, my english isn't the best..
But don't take this the wrong way, I still think this is one of your most beautiful portraits ever..

Wonderful. For some reason, I thought of Stevie Nicks as soon as I saw it (not sure why- isn't she blonde)? This is very striking. Her face looks almost porcelain I would only suggest maybe just easing off on the dodge when rendering the hair. The highlights might look nicer a little softer. I really like the contrast against the more graphic and stylized fan. It's working really well :-) |

Wow, lots and lots of replies =)
Thanks, everyone. I honestly didn't think she'd be THIS liked, but I'm glad that you people prove me wrong. I just woke up so I'm too tired to give everyone individual responses... but... I can see what's wrong with her face, now. I'll really try and see if I can fix it today.
I wanted her to have an original nose, but I ended up putting it in the wrong angle... and I'll soften the line of her cheek. As to the hair... I don't use dodge. Not for the hair at any rate. So I can hardly have used too much dodge, can I?
(Edit)
Most actual, real women look awful with this kind of makeup - except for on pictures. I don't know why, but dark and smoky eye makeup like this often just looks... tacky... while on picture it can look really sweet.
As for the story behind the woman in the picture... She's a courtesan. The best paid courtesan you'll ever find, but one nevertheless.
