I decided to post this in a separate thread so that if anyone else wanted to jump on the "roman priestess" bandwagon we could keep everything together. The other thread is looking to get pretty messy with all the abducted mooseys and mechs and whatnot.
Click the abducted moose to visit the other thread
Anyone that posts their own please let me know if I can use it for my site when it's up. Each artist will hopefully have their own gallery when I'm done.
Here's mine...

Oh my, that's lovely! There's definatly a bit of an Enayla influence me thinx! She's got a bit of a princess leia look to her face, no offence or anything. The transparent ribbon (?) is a very nice touch, and you've done it well. My only suggestion is a little work on the eyes and mouth, to make it look more.. alive.
[edit] I type like a fool

neebhore - On the contrary I was reverting back to an older style of mine. I've been trying to draw things differently lately but I still haven't gotten over shiney purdy girls I s'pose. I guess lots of girls draw this way. I'll take that as a compliment since people around here seem to love Enayla's art.
Thanks for the crit on the eyes and mouth... I'll try to fix that later tonight!

JEZEBEL: Fair enough, I haven't been here long, so the first style i saw like that was enayla's, so naturally i thought... i'm sorry.
I just then noticed the ear too!
[edit] i'm doing it again...

omg! hahahha! I forgot her ear! I am such a moron... *sheepishly goes back into photoshop*
Thanks for pointing that out... hehehe...
neebhore - No need for apologies at all! I think that a lot of girls have similar styles. Look at socar myles and merekat as well. Even compare the cartoony styles of jenn and ivy, they tend to be very cute looking. I think as a guy it's easy to see most girls' styles as being very similar to one another. Just like a lot of guys tend to draw the same way But whenever I look at the artwork done by the ladies of the forum I tend to see how different they are. But then I'm a girl, lol |

OK, fix the ear! And I don't really like the looks of her right eye, the angle is really wrong. You drew her eye flat, from the front, which is not the perspective of the picture. Hope you understand what I mean.
I really loooooove the rest of the image, because of the eye the pic is near perfection!
Really; fix the eye and this is THE pic. |

Well done, Jez! Wonderful colors.
Do more like this one! Maybe from the other side - how about a Gaul/druid priestess as a matched set? |

Well it's just typical that if I make a themed post that nobody participates, lol. I thought this would be a unique theme that people could do very quickly and get good practice out of. Shows what I know
Lukias - So many people have mentioned the Princess Leia thing. Pure coincidence
ReSistanZ - Thanks for the crit Rez. I said I would fix the ear yesterday but I'm doing it now, hehe. I still can't believe I left it like that
y@ - Thanks!
TMM - Thanks to you as well
pixualize - Druid priestess... I really like that idea. *goes to add it to her list of themes* Thanks. |

Nice work on the priestess, Jezebel. I don't remember ever seeing all that much of your artwork, but that's probably just me, though. Actually, I started a roman priestess last night, but it turned into mush after an hour or so. One alt-backspace later, and it's a block of solid color now. |

I fixed the ear, hehe... I should have done it right away but I got lazy. REALLY lazy considering it's only a 2 minute fix
Sedone - Ooooh... well I hope you start working on it again. I bet it will turn out lovely. As for not seeing much of my work, I've been trying to post more lately but usually I don't complete anything that I feel is worth showing off. Lots of my work finds it's way to the recycle bin pretty quickly.
zenonithus - Yeesh... this princess Leia thing is bizarre. Especially since I've never even seen any of the original Star Wars movies. *runs from the angry mob of stone-throwing Star Wars fans* Don't ask why, there is no reason... just never saw it. Saw bits and pieces of course, but never an entire movie. *plucks a rock from the back of her head and continues running* |

The ear looks fine, except it's a bit of a dodgy angle, and i'm not sure roman priestesses would have their ears pierced. I'm just being a bitch now. |

Cool, but maybe adding a bit of underlighting behind the hair in the back would give it some more depth? Seems kinda flat in that area...why dont you do this stuff at PaintChat? This is cool |

neebhore - Lol... actually from what I've read the ancient greeks/romans loved to wear all sorts of jewelry. But you're right, I'm nt sure an "priestess" would, but I don't see why not. Maybe this priestess likes breaking the rules
Striker - Yeah, I got a little sloppy around the neck area But I'm glad you like it otherwise!
Ako - Thanks for the advice. I'll see if I can try to play up that idea a little later

Since you had posted we could do something other than Roman I decided to have a go at painting a Celtic/Pagan priestess in the middle of a Beltane ritual since it's the "Lusty Month of May". |

I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I'm tired and in a rather bad mood (I hate ICQ now...Grrr...) so I'll take a second look at it tomorrow and decide.

Nice pics Jezebel. Very nice.
Craig: Nice mixture of matte and almost pure reflective in the same scene. Always a nice and interesting choice of colors too. |
