Well, I've been spending a lot of time with MAX 3 this week trying to get faster and better with 3D. but then someone came along and pointed the way to Justin Sweet's site (thanks Jason=)....an' I just 'ad to paint somepin'^_^
I did these after looking at Mr Sweet's lovely colours=)
they're just quick scribbles. probably about an hour while chatting on ICQ at the same time (hey Blitz=P)
I might post a few more things in this thread tonight if I get some time, instead of splitting it all up.

Nice dark colors... I been playin with some painting too. Its hard to pick what to do.. Do I want to model something in MAX or paint in photoshop. I feel its a quick way to get a bit of creativity out of the system, when in PhotoShop. 3D takes awhile to build and get a final render. I too struggle with what to do.. 3d or 2d or 3d or 2d.. Well Ive rambled long enough....later

Nice work Rinaldo -
That's a bold post.
I agree Justin's developed a great way to work. Man, what a great sense of pictorial design he's got! I'm working on this technique myself - but am not yet willing to post. Gimme another month or so to build some custom brushes that work well for me
Love Justin's images. I actually really like the black and white stuff too - looks like classic scratchboard drawings. Haven't seen that technique developed as much, (except by micke), but I can sure see the potential for concept work. |

raupe-Thanks=)
agent44-heh I doubt it, as soon as I heard about it the next hour was a solid "Click an' save" session
Wyatt Turner-I'm more of a drawing person really. I'm trying to get up to speed with 3D becuase it's interesting and I enjoy it (most of the time). but deep down I love painting the most=)
quaternius-hehe, after looking at the site I was tempted into giving painter another shot, I've nothing but pain with that app, and I didn't get anywhere with it this time either. mostly it's too slow on my comp. *sigh* back to Photoshop. Hopefully this Photoshop work is looking at least a bit painterly. I love the B+W too. using a painting app for that sort of technique works really well. hehe sooo much easier than scrath borad^_^
TheEyeless-thx=) I'll see what I can do ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

raupe - First rule of thumb when searching for something on the net: make the name into one word and slap a ".com", ".org" or ".net" on the end. I find that works much of the time. That's how I found this one. Here's the link:
