Cool! I like the leathery texture to the skin, and the bony quality of the teeth.

it looks original, not too 3-d though and the pose is standard, for concept work that's good though so you can use it as reference. The only thing I have issue with is that (by itself, I don't know the backround info) it seems like there isn't an overall reasoning behind it's appearance, the beak piece versus the grinding teeth, the large normal eye versus two small ones and the hinted either dog or gorilla like body structure seem confusing to me... I'm prob reading too much into it. the quality of textures and colors is very nice, keep it up!

Vesuvius: it was thought as something like a dinosaur creature. [There were some, that have a, useless beak (i hope thats the right word for it) and three horns.]

-some crits:
the big tooth(or horn) of the first guy
looks a bit unnatural
(als ob der grosse zahn sich nach links biegen w�rde--->wegs dem schatten)

the arm-muscles of the second one confuses me too
they don't look ''natural'' either
-don't get me wrong it hasn't to be 100% anatomical perfect
but some logic behind it would be nice

hehe freaky is good^_^ unless you were going for a cute and cuddly look of course=P

the texture is looking nice. I would try to put more dimension into it tho. things are looking a tad flat atm. (this is for the top one) second is a bit better in this regard but the values aren't working as well. try to start with some large brush strokes and get all the bacis lights and darks down before you go into detail.
