Hey all. here's another pic I just finished. I'm not really happy with the skin values. She looks very bronzed, which wasn't my intention. Oh well, I think this is as far as I could take it with my own abilities.

Yeah the wings aren't true to life. I do need to study animals in general. But I was wondering how everyone sees the wings? Do you see them sorta curling around? Especially the wing on our left. It actually curls around to form a half cylinder shape.
Because I just noticed that they could be mistaken as moving in a more straightforward direction. Hard to explain. oh well

As for the armour, I wanted it to look all old, rusted and dented. Like it was just a bit of metal whacked on (which all armour is btw). Hmmm. I guess that didn't work out either. Oh well, next time I'll do better.

I like the painterly quality. The wings aren't really working. Especially the one on the left. The far left edge of that one makes it look as though it's cut off. I'd like to see you just extend that side and fill up the empty space of the left side of the pic with the rest of the wing. That way you could get more of the wing shape to make it more obvious what it is, plus you could get some nice diagonal lines going with the larger feathers towards the bottom of the wing.

I also agree that the pose of her hand seems a bit strange. Its not very strong, for a winged, armor wearing chick. Maybe if you closed the hand and had her holding some kind of weapon or staff or something. Just some thoughts.

Squeal: Thanks for the advice. I don't plan to work on this pic anymore, but it's obvious that I need to pay more attention to structure and form. I'll be more watchful in future pics

Hugh: Thanks for your reply Yeah the hair is pretty stiff and unnatural. Not to sure how to fix that. Any ideas?

Dives: Hmmm. Yeah it definetely lacks expression. I was aiming for a 'dark' and un emotive face. Almost like she is cold hearted. But I guess that didn't work. Any suggestions?

RRoam: Erm... thats nice to know. I've never played diablo 2, videogames are just too expensive! I don't really know any other type of wing to draw so I just made them feathery

Personally I like the skin tones (maybe that's because I like dark chicks) the armor could use more hilite to give that metallic look.

hmm... im just going to say that i dont really like "angels" with those white furry wings... it just reminds me that its impossible for a human to fly that way since the wings would have to be really giant... and if its meant to be some kind of magic, they could be really small cerub-things but that would look really silly. I like the wings on the angels in Diablo II!!

PS. but the game sux DS.
