Neet Idea...PhotoMip comic...
Hmm....Maybe you could ad some rings of water around his wast and armes to realy show the swampy mudy shiz hes walkin through.
Also...Id desaturate the color of his head down on the bottom. It stands out a bit from everything else. I know you want the eye to be drawn to that point but I think it could be a little less bright than it is...
Keep it commen

Good Eyes! I thought about adding those things but got to lazy but your post gave me some energy.
Here is a revamped version based on your suggestions. I think the ripples and the desaturated head fit much better. The ripples really work well. Thanks!
anyone else have any thoughts?

It seems unlikely to me that your char or indeed any person would walk through a swamp in that kind of way... it just isn't a realistic pose.. would anyone drag their hands and arms through the swamp?? no.. they would hover them above the waterline... image it just like a person runs into deep water, at the beach.. the hold their arms up and out of the water mostly, for as long as they can.. |

No, leave the arms alone, they give the scene an eerie look, like the guy is tired or he's some kind of mystic character or a zombie, not a commando.
I think the rings are too big and don't look too real, you should make them a little bit darker, and I think you should make the water directly in fron of him a lil' bit higher than the rest so it looks like he's pushing it with his body.
I was walking in a swamp like that surrounded by alligators almost a year ago for my ecology class fieldtrip, it looked very much like that, but it was during the day. |
