ok, here we go...I really like this one.
and it took at least 2 hours to do...
it's a tribute to symbolism, more accurately finnish symbolism of the early 1900's.
really hope you like it!

(gallen-kallela influenced once again...)

The work you're cranking out is amazing. And in two hours! Crazy. I wish I knew more about Finnish Symbolism, and the artist you've mentioned... maybe I'll do a search tomorrow.

Very nice.

I like the position of it. Looks very
thoughtfull. On the other hand, this
really reminds me of some finnish artist.
Can't excatly point it....*puzzled*

collossimo: yep, I've had lots of free time this weekend ...Should be studying for the university entrance exams though...
thanks all for the positive replies.
finnish artists that inspire me: gallen-kallela, magnus enckell, gunnar berndtson, helene schjerfbeck. If you check even one of them out then this painting has succeeded
.......wish I had had a reference for that pose...flaws emerge that I could not see when i made this...

i like the whole pic better (second one).
i love the coloring and texture and the anatomy seems currect at all places too.
(besids the foot\hands but it's ok. don't bother no one)

nice work.

That last one looks definitely better. What mostly bothers me in the anatomy is his left shoulder. I'd emphasis and darken the left contour of the shoulder much more so it wouldn't look like it's growing straight from his pectoral... I hope this makes sense. I like the whole painting and the style very much.

You've managed to capture the style, it really looks like some old Gallen-Kallela paintings..
