a comment :
correct spelling :
reference
atheist
Shouldn't americans know their language ?
The bird looks nice, but get rid of those aliased lines. The pic has no depth - I can't really figure out how the ground is supposed to be. Values need more work, and some of the color selections really hurt my eyes .. The bushes are a bit vague too - they need more definition. |

Looks nice. Just one thing. Those rough
lines that separate things from each other
really bothers me. If u used Photoshop. Try
using smudge tool. |

that's a good start, you should know that whenever there's an atmosphere, the farther you are from something, the more "haze" it has covering it, that's why far away mountains and such look much less vibrant and have a slightly blue gray tone to them(or brown gray if you live in LA) the farther they are, this is what helps give landscapes their "deapth"
allso, you should have a clearly established foreground, midground, and background, and vary the amount of detail in each to show that. these are the more classical approaches, plus, I've never done a landscape myself but that's the knowlege I'd have to start with ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

sorry but i seem to be unable to see what the stuff in your pic is supposed to be... yes, i can guess it, but it just don't make any sense for me... :|
you should go out and draw (with pencil) some real landscapes before you try to paint from your imagination... then learn some basic stuff about drawing and painting (color theory and perspective)...
hey, but the bird thingie is kinda cool!

hey, dont be so hard on mr.stneil. hes trying, yes?
and dont use smudge, smudge is the devil. use brush at transparencies 10-50% and the color picker. pick nearby color, paint some, pick new, continue until reasonably smooth gradient. just my tip.
and morphgfx has right. get off the computer, draw some real stuff. yeah. rawk. |

Landscape pictures are hard to do. Even I still have problems with them. But you did a good job on this picture. And the bird in your picture is REALLY good! Keep up the good work. |

Clouds! Yes they are my buddy! Seriously this is nice to see another type of excercise from you. Keeping your sky deeper in color at the zenith and lighter at the horizon is on the right track. There are so many ways to paint a sky that I am hesitant to try to write some perscription for a "correct" sky. One approach that I sometimes employ is to start with a fairly simple gradation of my main sky color. Then to start the clouds off grab an eyedropper full of the lighter color near the horizon and paint with that higher up in the darker areas. Keep things light and whispy at first until you start to see where the clouds want to be (they'll tell you really). It's not a bad idea to practice this kind of thing with a very limited pallet of color. Keep your distant objects less brilliant (saturated) and as you get closer to the viewer crank up the heat on the colors slowly. Keep it up guy. You had a bumpy start here, it's nice to see you in a different light. |
