What strikes me as funny is how they keep bragging about this Mullins character giving them all this inside-info on how mercenaries work & realism & shit but when you see the game it makes me wonder if that Mullins guy actually worked for FedEx or something...realism is quite far-fetched.

I finished the game last week, it was such a dissappointement... I expected much more from raven after the kick ass heretic2...

Cons: No storyline-just another shootem up, your character just doesn't look cool (looks more like someone from a kebab shop), crappy 3dmodels (which were used in the movies as well --ehhh), I hate games that spawn emenies in thin air, it's a quake2 engine game-it should be out with half-life, sin or at least kingpin to stand a chance...
Also I came across more than once to an annoying bug in the last levels where once killed and respawned in the begginning of the level from the autosave, you had no weapons-items...

Pros: realistic violence, nice gameplay, some nice textures on geforce

sof2 could be the deal though...

well compared to other fps games available now like messiah, rogue spear, quake 3 or ut, i like sof the most because it's neither too fast nor too slow, also because of the real-life guns and finally because of the locational damage (i love aiming for the.. um.. you-know-what :P

it was hilariously sad and sadly hilarious.

from the middle of the game to the end boss (*cough*), i was especting a Fist Of The North Star -class majestetically epic ending fight where the world gets destroyed 4 times and so forth.....

whatever happened to realistic weapons and realistic hit location physics and all that jazz they promised? i finished the game with closer to 1500 kills...............

Like i said, they werent exactly marketing the game they brought out. I heard there's even a microwave gun in the damn thing... and you can reload the rocket launcher by yourself... and i seriously doubt a shotgun blowing people's limbs clean off.

Oh well.

Back to Rogue Spear.

anyone tried delta force 2? I love the
multiplayer. Classic battles, miles of open rolling scenery, being shot in the head from half a mile away.... ahhh.

Delta Force 2 really is the shittiest game to be released in the past (and hopefully coming) 5 years. Besides from the untrue marketing, 12 zillion patches and the company lying about system specs, the gameplay simply sucks.

DOnt get me wrong, i bought delta force 1 when it came out, and played it nonstop ever since. IMHO DF1 still is the best multiplayer game ever invented, but delta force 2 simply is a piece of &*764&#$^#476$&^%#@%768%$#^#^%@%.

What the primates at novalogic failed to see is that the utter simplicity of DF1 made it such a good game. Just you, your M4, a bunch of enemies and 500 miles to trash around on. With the addition of useless weapons, armories, rain, fog, dumbshit gametypes and graphics that bog everything down but the latest cryotech 1GHZ, the fun just got lost.

Okay so i bought SOF yesterday, i could get a demonstration copy for 20 bux so i was like what the heck. Been playing it for 3 hours, all settings on standard.

Im glad i didnt pay 45 bux retail for it.

What bothers me the most is the level design. It's completely utterly linear. You spawn at the beginning, and simply follow a trail of enemies towards the end of the level. Hell, you even have big glowing buttons in the walls you have to push.

Things as stealth, tactics, planning or even just caution are nonexistent in this game. It really isnt anything else than Quake2 with new graphics and a new storyline.

/Spit

P.s. i was quite suprised when i started taking fire from a 4-barrel .50 machinegun and actually got out alive, having sustained about 7 hits...

I hate it when 2 enemies are standing next to each other and you snipe one of them. Instead of running away, ducking or sounding the alarm the other one just stands there as if nothing happened waiting for you to snipe him too.

This game would have been so much better if it had required you to sneak up on your enemies, a little like in Thief.

Other than that the game is okay, but a little too easy, because of what I mentionned above.

As soon as i've got my friggin ADSL line back i'll see about the multiplayer side of it. The 'realistic' mode, without rocket launchers and microwave dinneehh...guns i mean, could be a bit fun...
