Been lurking around the forums for awhile and figured I should get around to posting. So here goes...
http://www.angelfire.com/art/piccoart/phoenix.jpg
*crosses fingers in the hope she did that right* Don't actually know how to draw flames, and feathery flames are completly mind boggling, so that's my best guess. Drew the phoenix in colored pencil, scanned it in and fooled around with it a bit in photoshop. Comments/crits would be much appreciated.
Thanks
hmm, well apparently I made a lovely angelfire logo...Copy/paste the url seems to bring up the actual picture. Anyone care to share how to make angelfire work? Or am I off on a host hunting adventure now?

Welcome the the board!
I like the work you did on the head and the wings...
2 things I would work on might be to increase the brightness of the flames using higher saturation and almost no blues or blacks. As is, your flames are the darkest area on the page!! Also, think about maybe having the flame come off the wings, instead of out of the Phoenix' butt?? |

Thanks Red, I shall try out those suggestions tonight. Those technicaly are flames coming off the wings although I guess not flamey enough..didn't want to overdo it else the bird wouldn't be able to fly (I think, my logic could be wrong on that). As for the flames coming outta the butt, that's supposedly a tail but as I look at it now, that would give the thing two tails. I'll fix that as well ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Hey Picco,
Really nice picture! Only comments I have are: First, the body looks seperate from the wings somehow, and second the tail should originate from lower down.
Otherwise - the picture definitely makes me think phoenix. The head and feathers are awesome!
