This is just one of some consept I've done for the "game" I'm working on at the moment. It's mother with her not so smart and not so independent son. Just trying to keep my myself partly active here again, so I try to dig up something here and there

My God, what a scary old harridan! She looks just like my mother, and all. Just wanted to tell you how much I like this--you've managed to get a lot of character into this picture. I can see that guy being a silly old loser just from this, without reading your description.

Nice! Kinda' has an Iron Giant feel (to me, anyway). I like how you handled the textures. What a weird game this must be.

Really nice, Joachim. Your characters always seem to be so filled with... well, character. I also like the texturing you've done here. Very nice work.

Damn the posts are dropping down fast. I was here a few hours earlier and posted this, now it's almost on 2nd apge. Maybe dhabh shoult make 70 posts on page 1, like earlier ?
But, I'm happy you guys like it. Actually, most of you guys will never be able to see this game, because it's a norwegian "kids" game. more like a cd-rom multimedia thing. I thought that would be boring, but infact, I've never had this much fun drawing jobstuff in months/years. Actually, the style in the game is totally different than this, as this was just one of the consept sketches when we were finding the style and look of the "game". ...I can see if I can dig up some more consept work for this game tomorrow....thanks again, though it isn't much.

Yeah, Joa. That is superslick! Is this still for the extreme-sports game? Excellent expression and the colors and texture are great too. Very nice!

hey everyone, thanks for the positive feedback.... It's nothing much, I know, but I'm glad you guys feel that the characters personality is shining through. Actually the style of the game is very different than from this type of style. It ended with a more painted look (as the typical norwegian classic paintings style), I'll post more different stuff later.

just a quick reply to you all...

sedone, hehe, actually it's not that weird..but since we are all thinking of doom clones when the word games pops up, I guesss it's easy to just think that mother runns around with he son sticked behind with a big rifle shooting people to pieces, hehe.

frost, don't be so hard on yourself. Though, I know you're joking

zorglub, I hardly never read comics at all...but I buy them all -I'm almost turning into an artbook/comic collector, I don't want to miss a thing.

victor villan, ah I see

boomstick, the exterme sports title, you kidding right

ankart, it's pencil sketch and digitally colored. I hardly do any coloring traditionally for work....more time consuming, for me atleast. And, when I do conseptual work I like to produce fast and not get stuck on the technical part.

and thanks to the rest of you that I haven't given a personal answer. I appreciate them all !
