This was made for an assignment I got in school. I worked on it on and off under a period of time. I did the most stuff the last week before the deadline, so some things that I wanted were cut out unfortunately. It was composed in After Effects, illustrated in Illustrator, animated in Flash and the bakgrounds were made (rather quickly) in 3ds max. And I made the music as well. Aw yea :P

I don't know how I feel about it now. I learned alot from making it and the teacher seems happy about it so
(edit: forgot to add the small version)

cruel bastards. I hate when someone posts something cool, and doesn't get a reply. I'm sure you spent a long time on this and for what waves a responces do you recieve. Just me.
Positives: I just love the close up on the blue lighted face. When he opens his eye, just looks cool. I can see you spent a lot of time in this scene, since it looks different fromt he rest. The shaky camera is a nice added feature.
Constructive: I wish the quality of the opening shots carried through more. The 2 ajents needed more shadow and highlight detail in their faces. I'm not 100% fond of the subject matter. MORE GUNS. ITs just being done too much. IT can be done right. It's just you had 2 suits with guns and a dood hidding with a gun. Doesn't spark **creativity** and "original idea" I know it was an assignment, and you probably wanted to concentrate more on the animation than the idea, but the story is just as important. If some new company made another CG BUG movie, wouldn't you kinda roll your eyes and say. "This has been done before" OK.. I'm done.
GOOD JOB. ANIMATION is always cool. I'm going to be taking a 2d animation course here at college over the summer. I hope to produce something at least as cool out.

Actually I wasn't sure if I would post it here but since I already had it uploaded...
Anyway, I agree with your points. The original story was a bit longer, but things came in the way and...blah. I chose the idea because of it's unoriginality, so I could focus more on the other stuff. I found out later that it wasn't such a smart idea. It turned out pretty "soulless". :/
Btw, The blue face in the beginning was actually the one sequence I spent least time on. |

Thanks Awetopsy, I tried to make blod behave like it does in anime films(my biggest inspiration).
I'm pretty happy today because I spoke earlier with my teacher about my grades in the class. Got the highest |

Pretty nice. I could definitely see some anime influence in it.
As for the blood, I wouldn't recommend using anime as a reference. It doesn't exactly have a very realistic portrayal of blood. If you've seen Ninja Scroll you'll know what I mean. The blood in Saving Private Ryan, for example, would be better to study.
That's my two cents. |
