Hey, it's a teen-age Yoda!(rare)
Try shading his head as if you were shading a sphere.

Actually it's not too bad, when I look at the mouth and nose all I think is Yoda. But er...I guess that goes to the line artist as well. My only beef is that Yoda has longer gray hair and tannish shirt thing. Also, the colors look pretty sloppy where the neck connetcs to the shoulders.

Well stneil you definily are getting better
One little thing though, you should try to get more depth in the face buy adding more and darker shadows and more defined light areas. |

You should be more conserned about light, shapes and volume than if you've used reference or not. I see a very common mistake in this one, you smooth and shade like if you'd want it clean, but the overall light has not been thought through before the the smudging is in place. And it won't look clean and good because there's no hard edges, it's the delicate combination that gives the result....so focus more on sketching and maybe painting without the pshop tools/effects and you will be forced to deeper analyse what you are doing.
this is not a good example, but I hope I can give you an idea of what I mean. It can take hours of cleaning or 5 mins with a bit of planning.

Green and Orange is a very heavy choice to pick. I would suggest to use referance in the beginning and try to work more on the
shapes and forms. I can see straight away who the character is with no problem, great! But still it's very flat. Be more aware of where you put the shadows and highlights and be sure to decide on where the light should be comming from. Think basic shapes and use the informations from that to transfer the light & shadows to your picture.
Hope this can help.
