Here is a small character my Husband and I are writing a children's story about--this is just the first sketch I did for him, I hope to have many more in time...I know he's not much, but he's all I've been able to knock out lately :)

EDIT--hope this fixes the problem

geocities doesn't allow outside linking. this is the address to Iconoclast's image: http://www.geocities.com/elenahope/guy_for_Elizabeth.jpg
drag that to the address bar or copy paste it into a new window.

i think it is a very good piece of art... but the charactor seems a little too scary of a children's book... he has those dark bags around his eyes and kinda has a hunchback.

great art, but in my opinion it doesn't seem suitable for a children's book

I really like everything about this chracter, he is very cool almost whimsical. But the hand really, really bugs me, It just doesn't seem... natural? Some of my favorite parts of the image are the shanding on the arm, and the flash of color under the eyes and in the hair.

i think he is a bit scary for a children's character also... tone down the caffeine and he should be alright

Thanks a lot for the responses, guys--yeah, he is a bit creepy in this pic, but I promise he's a really nice guy once you get to know him

He started out very abstracted--and it seems to have just stopped with his hand--I'll work on that
thanks again!

Hello Dallas/Richardson person! I'm a McKinney person!

I like it! It looks like some of Tim Burton's concept art. I wish I could do that. Looking forward to seeing more.

I think these colors will be throughout the book--the coral colors, soft yellow, and ceurelean blue--I really enjoy those colors, and while soothing, they can also lend a sense of urgency and action--this childrens' book isnt really a true child's tale--it's in a fairly new style, a Childrens' story that is very relevant to adult life--I doubt many true children will be reading it

thanks so much all--
