for my 11th grade english class, in our study of romanticism, we had to pattern a poem in the style of the romantic of our choice (i chose william blake) and make a picture for it... i chose to do mine with a tablet in photoshop instead of with a ballpoint pen on lined paper.

Awake in the moonlit eve
Dug a little boy nave.
Unaware of what did lurk,
He proceeded doing work.
To dig a hole to China far,
Reckless, he struck Myanmar?
No, only dirt he reachd,
And in dismay he screechd!
Below him then fell the ground,
So his delve became unwound.

Nice!

But isn't Blake considered a transitory poet and not quite Romantic? He's a little to forthright about the bitter miseries of the Industrial Revolution compared to the escapist romantics after him.

Peace

yes, blake does have many of the qualities of a romantic poet; however, much of his work dealt with worldly themes. i'm not a poetic scholar and i don't claim to be, nor have i watched much evangelion (aside), but i do know that william blake was on the provided choices list, so i snagged him. :^) thanks for the comments!
