well i did this while looking @ one of mikel's torts, it is not nearly as good as his but i kinda like it, i was going for a little more stylized look (which dont look better but oh well . . .) i purposly have those wild lines coming away from it, i dont know why i am keeping them there but oh well eheh please crit!

alright, dynamite.
Mikael is a great artist to look at for doing faces.
My sugestion, besides thinking about proportions, would be to try using more variation of line quality. Big think lines, little swigly lines, white lines... Maybe you wont want to use all of them in one drawing but do them to expand your vocabulary.
Also, look to the real world to see how shadows fall. It's not always where you would first think. |
