unleashed!! Tell me what you think...I am wondering if I should submit it to marvel?
Just speaking my mind if anyone cares: I think there is a definate lack of good photomanip art on this board. There are some really good people don't get me wrong. Most people on this board are just strickly using photoshop for painting. I get the feeling that alot of people that are doing art here don't even consider photomanip as art or consider using it in there art. I think this is a mistake. I urge newbies to use photoshop for more than painting and actually use the PHOTO in photoshop. You will learn alot. nuff said.
If anyone cares..here is my ugly mug that I used for the pic.

Hey, wow man !
I love the colors and the textures !
About the lack of photomanipulators here, well, it is their choice, I mean I do a lot of it but I never post it, doesnt mean I dont consider it art though.
I think the reason why we dont see a lot of it here is because of the painting reputation these forums have established.
I personally wouldnt mind seeing more pieces like this
Great work man, I'd like to see more.. |

Ok... This just plain Rocks! I love this, and your right photominip is lacking on these forums. Mabye I should whip something up? I dunno, I haven't done photominip since I used to post in the Counter-Strike Skins Forum. Anyone else posted there?
Once again, great stuff. Diffenatley submit it to marvel! |

i really like this one. very intense, made my jaw drop.
i hear what you're saying about the lack of photomanipulations, or i mean good manipulations. too often people lean on the filters and surfacey techniques. this example you've posted is a good image because i wasn't distracted from the image by trite image treatment.
to be honest, some of the other ones you've posted seemed too much like kia's goo. this one is a hundered steps above those. very impressive. |

This does rock. I honestly haven't seen that much good photomanipulation like this before.
Its just something that I don't think is generally done well enough to blow our minds like you have there.
I saw some of your other work and I must say that this is by far the best work I've seen you do. Mainly because of the good photo and design of the piece.
I can't wait to see more of your work. |

I just don't get how to do photomanip. I look at stuff like this, or Dave McKean, or whoever, and scratch my head. I think it's awesome, but I have no idea how it's done!
Edit: I mean I kinda do, but not really...

Oh god, being in graphic design, there's way TOO much room for photomanipping, and I could build a whole portfolio from it. Ive got at least 20 printed pieces with heavy photo-manipulation in there, including an alternate 'fight club' movie box.
Just for a critique: there's too much noticable "gooing" in there, the nostril, the brow, etc. This is very good though, I like the burn lines drawn quickly over the face..gives it a movie poster look, and I do like the changes you made to the photo...mangling the teeth (just a tiny bit more :P) and making the ear smaller..little details like that let me know you have good experience with this sort of thing...minus the goo.
Keep it up,

I agree with your points and good job on this nickmarksdot.com!
I also sometimes find photomanipulation useful as a base, onto which I can throw on paint and still get an illustrative look to the piece. This is especially useful when deadlines are tight...

Nice job. I sort of wish I could see less texture in his skin though-like with my Biogre it looks like he has sort of rock-like skin. I tried to weasel my way out of fixing my model's texture of course. Hehe :] |

Nice job...
I would have started with a model who has a thicker, cro-mag neck though.
If you're thinking of sending this to Marvel, I'd re-do it with a photo of a well defined bodybuilder. I'd also crazy up the hair...the Hulk has gone back to his "Hulk Smash!" days, and the editors would probably like to see you're on the ball continuity-wise.
Also, careful with the cheeks when you're photo manipulating... you have to try to keep them from flattening out, as most retouching is going to spread things on the x-z axis and not the z. Same thing with his mighty brow. I think you need a bit more shadow work there to give it a more 3-d feel.
Love the texture an the wash-out., and the whole mouth area is great.

Even the rigidly anti-photomanip have to admit that that's a really cool pic. |

Nice.
Cool idea, it has lots of impact, and a lot for the eye to be interested in.
Visual Myriad, nice manip. what did you do to get that green glow? just a layer effect? or more complicated?
Tinusch: I'd agree, anyone has to admit this is pretty cool. |
