This one has been in the finishing a while now. If someone here knows japanese, I`d like to know what the signs mean;-) I snagged them off a picture of a japanese discount shoestore..lol.

veb, thats gorgeous. i love the texture.

have you been inspired for you new direction by Ashley Wood? he is an artist for Image- Spawn, and has been doing numerous covers and has his own book out, Hell Spawn (dont know if its still goin, i had to cut back on comic due to $$)

if you havent seen anything by him, check out www.spawn.com and the Hell Spawn comic section. you may have a respect for his work

i love the high contrast look in your piece btw, nice!

Vebjorn, I looked up both characters and one says GYOKU (gem/jewel or sphere) and the other says SON meaning village or town.

But I then looked up both of them connected and they say Tamamura surely being the name of a town or village in Japan.

Whoa cool armor thingie you got there, but my eyes slide over her boobies every time I try to look at the armor. Maybe their too big for a ninja

About the Kanji thing, well I'm Japanese so I could tell you about it but the problem is that I can't make out what characters are used. Snake Grunger did a nice job explaining but there are many more Kanji's that look alike. For example if you take away the "dot" in the first one you get "King". And the 2nd one could be "forest" or another one is the meaning for "a move" in a fighting game, similar to "skill". Would be nice if you could get me a pic that only has the font on it.

This is how I made out the letters. Like Kuzz said, they are very washed out by the layers you added Veb, so I guess if you REALLY want an accurate translation, you'll have to show us the original photo you used as reference or layer.

WOW!!!! That's awesome! VERY nice. No complaints at all! Really great work and style what did you do it in? Was it free hand or digital?
